It's official. Wayne is off to Souths. I wonder if it will have a negative effect on us. No doubt at all he'll be spending time organising his roster for next year while he is still on our books. Not suggesting he is unprofessional and will neglect his duties for us. Just that looking ahead, he'll be more concerned about Souths than us.

I can’t see it being a distraction all the players knew he was leaving at the season’s end.

I think the players will be fine. But Wayne will be looking/planning ahead for Souths. I trust Wolff knows what's going on anf is planning appropriately. It should be fine.

Pretty confident in wolf , I think he will go well. I don’t see Bennett destabilising the club I think he will get a thrill out of seeing it grow

I'm sure it will be fine. As you say, I'm sure Wolff will be looking to the future even if Wayne no longer is.

Though good ol Wayne is already talking the talk about all the wonderous things he's going to do with Souths. Probably should keep a lid on that until he's done with the Dolphins.

Wayne Bennett actively coaching South Sydney and it’s damaging the Dolphins

Rugby league today is a big business and there is no more respected figure than Wayne Bennett. But can the great man have two jobs at once? The seven-time premiership coach is now entering his final few months at the Dolphins before heading back to the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Since announcing his move, the Dolphins have lost three of their past four games.

At the same time his new team Souths have won four in a row, playing the football we expected from them at the beginning of the year. There is no doubt Bennett, from 900km away, has had a huge influence on the Rabbitohs’ revival in recent weeks. The Dolphins play the Rabbitohs in three weeks’ time at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe. It will be interesting.

I'm not sure sure. It's pretty public that he's been talking to Cook, Mitchell, Murray. It's not doing anything wrong if he does it in his own time but it doesn't look good, IMO.

He made them change Kolo back to a middle forward, rather than a wide one.

I think it might just be conversations with Hornby who he is close to.

No doubt. Just not a great look. Though I'm not sure we are in the form slump they are saying. I thought they played very well against Melboune. But we will see in a few weeks.

I dont think we are in a form slump either.

And those teams mentioned earlier that we lost to, we hit them at their high. After playing us, they have faltered.

Played well against Melbourne and Cronulla but not traveling too well before that. Lets see what happens but I think Wayne shouldn't be giving Souths advice this year which rumour has it he has.

Teams go through ups and downs through the long season. We've done well to be where we are considering being without 2 big gun forwards but need to win this Sunday. Just think of where we could be if we didn't drop the game against Newcastle and Canberra. I know it's stupid to say "what if we won" but they were games there for the taking.

I like what Wayne is saying here!

But I don't agree with the Suuali send off. I hate players getting seriously punished for high tackles when the ball runner ducks/crouches/slips/falls at the last moment which is the only reason the tackle is high.
Yeah me too. I will say I am from NSW to start. Origin is a spectacle, and that ruined the first game. Walsh is falling in the tackle, yes Suuali got it wrong, however there is no intent to hit him in the head. 10 in the bin and on report, would have been better.

Having said that, I am not going to argue with the refs call, however, in that type of match I would prefer it be a spectacle.

What I don't agree with, is the line that mothers are watching. Thats bullcrap for mine. NRL is a hard game, and mothers know that before they let their kids sit up and watch. My son plays, he was told before he played, and as his father, I just tell him to harden up when he gets hurt, because he made the choice knowing full well. This is coming from a football (soccer) playing family.

They have to be punished otherwise coaches will start training players to take opposition out with 'accidental' high shots but for the very worst of that kind of thing, 10 in the bin should be enough. No doubt at all that if Walsh hadn't ducked/ slipped after Suuali had already launched himself into the tackle, it wouldn't have been high.
