Recruitment and retention

Didn't he spend the advance on his contract on a swimming pool? Hence the difficultly getting out of the contract as they wanted the $$ back
Yes. The Dragons gave him an advance to pay for a house, out of his salary.

So leaving early, meant he was paid, for what he wouldn’t be doing. Therefore, an early release was an issue.

lol sounds like molo deal still up in air as club realised more than what they wanted will go of the cap ( and shane still wants him seems its club issue not a coach issue )

Tried to pull a swifty over the Dragons but they caught on. Oh well, I don't think anyone is that fussed about him.

Another lock? Gilbert, Plath, Knowles from next year and some Dragons lower grader who is apparently also a lock. I think this rumour isn't true. He's 18 and probably a gun but another lock is the absolute last position we need.

Forget the romantic homecoming, I honestly can't see DCE coming to the Dolphins. Do you really think he's going to uproot his wife and kids for a two-year deal in Qld with a club that won't be a serious GF contender in that time? Redcliffe might be DCE's home but his kids are Sydney born and bred - it's where their schools are and their friends are. If he leaves Manly (and I hope he doesn't) then the Roosters are the only real option - they'll remain in their home and he'll make the trip from the Northern Beaches each day for training
