Again being an ex dragon. I am not a big fan of his.

A big forward with all the physical attributes, that doesn't bring it week in week out.

I am hoping Bennett can get him to play to his potential, however id say he is in the same class as PF, who currently doesn't get a game with us.

I don't know much about him but I just had a look and it seems Dragons fans aren't upset by it. Not upset about him leaving.

Watching him play right now. Judging from this, I'd say Aitken is far better.
Yeah not having the best one today, however, that bulldogs team has been ravaged by injury, lots of young players there.

I have seen him play better.

Forgot to mention Flannagan in the halves doesn't help either.

yeah, I don't think Avarillo is to blame. Id kind of ignore these types of performances.

He has been playing well in this ravaged team this year. Put him on the end of a good forward pack with a creative half, he should go better.
I was talking about Flanagan having a shocker. Avarillo is probably a handy backline utility. But I don't think he's going to push Aitken out of the centres.

Averillo has now confirmed to the Bulldogs he is coming here next year. Gonna be a fight for the centre spot. I hope Val goes extra hard now to get first dibs.

I guess the benefit of not having a 1mil + a year superstar on the books. A lot of depth.

After Hammer killing it in the centres last night again, I am wondering if we should have been looking for a fullback linstead, lol?

But in all seriousness I had my doubts how well he would go at centre, but he looks like he was born playing there after only 12 or so first grade appearances there.

It would probably under very serious consideration if we had another decent fullback.

So far for next year the specialist centres we have:
  • Farnworth
  • Aitken
  • Te Whare
  • Bostock
  • Avarillo
  • Brenko Lee

Farnworth is 1 centre. Simple as that. 2nd will be a good competition. Te Whare is a front runner but with another 8 months to develop for first grade, Bostock might be very good.

For a bargain price but that won't happen. Not worth big money, IMO. Good running game but not a playmaker we need.
Yeah those are my thoughts as well.

$750/$800k - yes. But I don’t think he will go for that.

Having said that. If saints say you can only leave to Qld. Then we would have power. Broncos would be a no, cows suggested they would hold their 7. Titans changing coach. We could possibly low ball him and win out.

I guess he might have an immediate positive impact this season. How much are we willing to sacrifice long term for this year? He's 33 and not a good ball player. I have serious doubts how good he is now let alone next year.
