Kerr will be gone. Why is he so easy to tackle? For the opposition I mean. He's massive and is no slouch either.
He was like that at the Dragons.

I would smash my head against the wall. I used to call him Big for nothing. He never bent the line. Him and Blake Lawrie. Damn they frustrated me.

I was pissed when we signed him.

My opinion of Bostock was the same, however he has proven me wrong, and I am happy to admit it. He wasn't very good at the Dragons though.

What astounds me about the Josh Kerr interview is him admitting his training last year wasn't up to standard. There's been now four players we know of Kerr being the first to say the other three Te Whare and Milford reaching the media and Niu being photographed in the same boot camp as Te Whare where training and fitness standards just didn't aim up.

I don't live anywhere near Redcliffe (I will be up there next weekend not this) and I really sensed something wasn't right with training and not right overall. I'm sure there's more than four as the fitness and attitudes of others did seem to be missing. A lot of younger to middle range players regressed in 2024 after showing a lot of promise in 2023.

I don't blame the players I just really believe Bennett's heart was elsewhere and his motivation slipped and it's hard for players and staff to get up for the application of the training and attention to detail when the coach wasn't fully applied. I do believe and no one will ever say it that Dolphins and Bennett were just happy to get through on good terms, to allow a smooth exit and for Dolphins they've been quietly waiting for this moment. I just get this vibe.

There's a lot of players off contract at the end of 2025 and Woolf didn't mess around flicking Te Whare and Niu.

Why does it astound you his training wasn’t up to scratch?

After watching him for years, he is softer than his body suggests. He plays with the worst consistency I have ever seen in a forward.

It all suggests that he is a lazy trainer, that gets even lazier in the off season.

I am a massive Liverpool fan. Kerr would do well to check out James Milners preseason fitness tests back in the day. Oldest player on the team, was always the fitest after an offseason. Sets standards. Kerr doesn’t come across as someone seriosuly trying to excel as an athlete. Especially when the coach puts the fear of god into you about coming back to training overweight. No coach ever had to have that chat with James Milner

Kerr is old news. If he is selected for NRL next year, it'll mean we are in the midst of the 3rd injury crisis in 3 years for the forwards.

Not Kerr personally that this is now the 4th player and that's what we know of that has taken short cuts and not aimed up at training, Bennett appeared that he just let it all slide and eye was off the ball.

I sensed something wasn't right with training last year and looked way too casual for an outsider. I don't blame Kerr or the players and I don't blame Reader or the support staff it was all on Bennett. I was critical of management for allowing last year to slide just to end everything on good positive terms with Bennett sacrificing the season in the process looking back I can see why it was done. The club has remained in good healthy check off the field and set up its structure well.

Bennett's heart was with Souths last year and I never fully believed he was too sick to travel to Darwin.

So many players regressed last year that it was concerning.

I'm really warming to Woolf and he's certainly going about things in a much quieter fashion than McGuire or Ryles.

lol , you sensed something was wrong ffs , it had nothing to do with bennet , all it was was inexperienced team up against some top level sides , and we made wrong choices at wrong time we got way further than what people thought yet people stil blame Bennett, for second year club we went friggin awesome

woolf is like bennett e expect results and has hig standards , and will get very frustrated if we loose easy game ( seen him do it when he was in uk )

Kerr is just not a good player. Seems to me he is making excuses for himself by saying, "I just wasn't training hard enough." when in fact he just isn't any good.

He won't be going anywhere while still under contract unless another club is willing to pick up a very large part of his remaining contract with the Dolphins. Next year is his last so that is doubtful.

Saifiti and Graham at the RBWH

Daniel Saifiti and Harrison Graham get on the tools to say thank you and recognise the amazing work of the 1000+ staff members of QLD’s biggest hospital, the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital.

The most of any club, Fox Sport rates 3 Dolphins players among the best 25 under 25s. Interestingly, Herbie Farnworth not rated even in honorable mentions. i.e. someone at Fox made a mistake not realising Herbie is 24. Stephen Crighton was ranked #1. Must be because he was their captain as well. No way would I swap him for Herbie.

19. ISAIYA KATOA (DOLPHINS) — 20

It is easy to forget that Isaiya Katoa is still just 20 and has been piloting an NRL team around for two seasons already, playing 22 games in each of his first two NRL campaigns.

Turning 21 during next season’s trials, Katoa has scored four tries in 44 games for the Dolphins, as well as two tries in nine Tests for Tonga.

The halfback prodigy recently inked a three-year extension that ties him to the Dolphins until the end of 2028 and he could be a 15-year player for the club by the time he is done.

Last season Katoa finished with 15 try assists, two tries, one linebreak and 16 tackle busts in 22 games for the Dolphins and capped his season leading Tonga to the Pacific Championships final.

18. MAX PLATH (DOLPHINS) — 23

Already being mentioned as a Maroons Origin bolter at 23, Dolphins back-rower Max Plath is is a star of the future.

Turning 24 on Grand Final day next year, Plath has scored five tries in 23 games for the Dolphins since his debut in 2023, including four in 21 games last season.

Plath’s meteoric rise has seen him start ahead of seasoned veterans at the Dolphins, which shows how highly regarded he is by Wayne Bennett.

Last season Plath ran for 1,442 metres to go with four tries, three try assists, 31 tackle busts and a team-high 855 tackles, which earned the workhorse forward the Dolphins’ Player of the Year award (The Arthur Beetson Medal).

5. HAMISO TABUAI-FIDOW (DOLPHINS) — 23

The man they call the Hammer could end up being the biggest recruitment flop in Cowboys history after they let him leave to join the Dolphins.

Turning 24 during next year’s finals series, Tabuai-Fidow has scored 51 tries in 86 NRL games for the Cowboys and Dolphins since his debut in 2020, while he also has nine tries in seven Origins for the Maroons and four tries in seven Tests for the Kangaroos and Samoa.

Tabuai-Fidow is equally adept at fullback and centre, but has the potential to be the best and most exciting No.1 in the NRL in coming seasons.

Last season Tabuai-Fidow scored a team high 15 tries to go with six try assists, 12 linebreaks and 74 tackle busts in just 16 games, so imagine what he would have done with a full season.
