yes you guys forget though hes under a delopment top 30 contract like trai was they come under different conditions to nrl top 30 and usually if they not cracking nrl they are let go

they hardly ever get paid out they hardly ever have another club pay them as most they types of players get put on the qld cup book of there feeder clubs

and if a agent thinks there let go payer can get a start in nrl they usually get tem a train n trial

yes harrision will be training but i would say be free to go anytime like milf

yes but under development contract which diffrent terms
Development contract is separate from the top 30. Every club has a top 30 + 6 spots max for development contracts who are only available I think after round 6. So from round 7.

Development was changed to from Round 1 last year. It's just the min wage and salary cap for them different.

Players on development contracts can play NRL from round 1? Interesting. So basically it's a top 30 + 6.

Harrison Graham was promoted to Top 30 in early 2023. His deal was until 2025 and is Top 30.
might well say that but 2 things to remember the guys outta the regular 17 will have different clauses ie to keep them still in the cup quota like the guys in qld cup sides that soley qld cup plyers

just because hes in 30 ( doesnt actually mean he has same clauses as the top 17 _)

he was there 4 injury cover as both kody izzy were carry niggles and as it happened kodi got big hit on him we would of had to have dispensation if they play before round 6 ( and he had to be upgraded because of that no you cant have then in side from round one unless you ad whole stack injurys ) in that key position same reason trai got in when we had injury to hammer we had no other options

still need clearance

There is no "top 17". 30 players to choose from for the 17 NRL players + at some point early in the season up to 6 players on development contracts. Most clubs usually leave at least one spot open for mid season transfers though I think they have to fill the 30 places by August 1st.

Geoffrey is never wrong :)

Players can be in a Top 30 squad and never be selected.

Dolphins successfully applied for an exemption to get Fuller into the team last year ahead of Jennings and Te Whare.

The Jennings signing was a box ticking exercise to meet minimum requirements for an NRL squad (24 by Nov 1 every year and Dolphins scraped to 24 by that stage) and only got to 26 by January with Hammer and Niu. They got to 29 by Round 1 with Bostock, Graham and Donoghue getting promotions.

Te Whare was an experiment that didn't quite work out and that can happen.

Harrison Graham is in the top 30 next year.

Off contract for 2026:

  • Kenneath Bromwich (retire)
  • Kurt Donoghoe (won't be kept unless he has a breakout year next year. I doubt it. He is past the age typical for players having a breakout season.)
  • Harrison Graham (won't be kept)
  • Felise Kaufusi (retire)
  • Josh Kerr (won't be re-signed)
  • Connelly Lemuelu (who knows?)
  • Mark Nicholls (retire)
  • Sean O’Sullivan (won't be re-signed)
  • Mason Teague (probably won't be re-signed)
  • Michael Waqa (probably won't be re-signed)

Did you hear the Josh Kerr comments yesterday? He was the player up for media yesterday. I don't think he's in the Top 17 plans for next year. Something needs to happen for Woolf to keep him. I don't think Woolf intends on messing around as he's showed already flicking Te Whare and Niu.

Kerr will be gone. Why is he so easy to tackle? For the opposition I mean. He's massive and is no slouch either.
