What do you base that on, he’s played 2 games at 5/8
It was widely reported in the media he played all his junior football at 5/8 and considered that or fullback his best position.

So you’re all celebrating the fact another team has signed a promising player who’s only played 2 games in first grade at 5/8 as though he’s the second coming.
I don't know about the second coming but he's very highly rated by those who are paid to know. Ivan Cleary for example rates him very highly. I think his signing might piss off a few big names at Penrith and a few promising juniors. Brain To'o for example.

3 nrl coaches have all decided he isn’t a 5/8 Arthur, Barrett, and Ryles. My point is why all the excitement about a player who is nothing to do with the Dolphins

No they didn't. The Eels have Moses and Brown. And I'd suggest Barrett isnt much of a coach, Ryles hasn't been a head coach in the NRL, and whilst I rate Arthur he has never won anything. Furthermore, they didn't say he wasn't a 5/8th, they are trying to fit him into a squad to make him happy and keep him, so they will move their captain to try and accommodate a young gun to keep him. He is a youngster, and they are seasoned halves pairing Moses and Brown. I'd suggest they were looking to transition him. Start him at centre and give him at taste of first.

Now, the coach that has won 3 comps straight will replace a 3-time champion with him Blaize 5/8th. Not sure what that tells you. They may even start him at centre to embed him into the team, before they give him the keys to the backline.

He is young, and looks like he is going to be a gun. With all his youth at 5/8th. He may well have a fall from grace.

Why all the excitement? The Dolphins were in hard for him, and he looks like he will be a gun, partnered with Katoa, and Hammer in the spine. Thats us set for 8 years mate.

You lot are all jumping up and down about a kid who was never gonna sign for us his agent used us. Barret was a rep 5/8 and a nrl coach. Arthur a nrl coach 11 years , Ryles has been in the nrl coaching system under 2 of the best . He’s yet to play under Ivan, you could put anyone outside of Nathan Cleary and they would look a million dollars (jack cogger). He couldn’t get in at 5/8 in a busted parra team. Again my point is your all talking ifs and buts , he doesn’t play for the Dolphins

Nonsense. Barrett rejected the idea of him playing fullback. The reason he's not 5/8 is because Parramatta already have Dylan Brown on almost a mil a year to play 5/8. They had a spot available in the centres.

Arthur, as above.

Ryles, as above except wanted to move him to fullback.

With the carrot of playing 5/8 at Penrith, not fullback at Parramartta. There is no shame in being wrong but shouldn't wag your virtual finger at us, telling us he wants to play fullback despite obviously not knowing.

Penrith's back up 5/8? I don't rate him TBH. He goes "ok" (not more than that) behind a very good Penrith pack but I'd prefer Kodi be the fulltime 5/8. Though surely the deal gets done now or Wolff really has someone that no one expected in mind to play 5/8.

Slow down a minute! I can't read every message posted but I know for a fact I never said he was coming to the Dolphins. I might have said if he did come it would be to play 5/8 though I think this is right:

He might have been centre to start with. Ease him into first grade before giving him the keys to the backline. One thing seems pretty certain, he doesn't want to play fullback.

Time to retire Talagi. Might revisit it in about a year and decide if he's more hype than anything. I saw him play a bit for Parra and looked like a good player but I didn't get all the hype. I'd prefer Katoa who is only a year older.

Its the recruitment thread, we were in for him strongly, hence why he was mentioned as a potential recruit. We missed out on him to the Panthers, that should be the end of it.

Just on Barrett, shit coach, played rep football at 5/8th where he played well. Underachieved and performed at club level, where he was followed by Jamie Soward, a far worse 5/8th who won the comp with the dragons.

Soward was less talented but the results of the two show who was a better team player.

There captain is fullback and probably their best player, Barrett didn’t reject the idea at all. And the reason he is not 5/8 is because they tried him there and it didn’t work due to a few internal reasons. And that came from the horses mouth not the papers

Probably why a talented player isnt staying. Its internal reasons not talent.

Look, we are talking about him, because he was of interest to out club, and he is a talented youth player, with a lot of learning to do, no denying that.

He isnt of interest anymore, because he is signing with the panthers. We were talking about him because he has potential and we wanted him.

  • Moses is by far their best player. Brown is probably second. My personal opinion is I don't rate Gutherson. I think they'd be better if he didn't take 2 hits up every set and end up with very few line breaks or tackle busts but 200+ run metres. Though without Moses they are a rabble.
  • Barrett who had already been told he isn't wanted in coaching at Parra next season and is probably on his way to the Broncos. He ruled out Talagi playing fullback because "it was disrespectful for Gutherson." Was he joking or is he that bad a head coach? He's already on the podium with Kearny and Jason Taylor as the worst. If he's serious, that might give him the gold.
  • Without Moses they are a rabble. Or is Talagi massive overrated as well? What's your point? He's not a good 5/8? Ok, better let Penrith know.

Have Penrith signed him as a 5/8 , Moses has been out all season. Where did I say he wasn’t a good 5/8 , my point was you pulling your cock about a player we haven’t signed . And the coaches your disrespecting have done more in the game than you and I playing and coaching
