What's new

2025 Squad

Williams is a gun halfback but I'd much prefer Katoa and Averillo at 5/8. If Averillo can consistently play well at 5/8, it'll set up the spine for a number of years.
1 Hammer
6 Averillo
7 Katoa
9 JMK (Plath)
13 Donga
14 Plath

All see LJ Nonu today for Redcliffe? Now you know why he’s in the top 30 next year.

Best 3 players in 2025

1 Herbie Farnworth
2 Isaiya Katoa
3 Kurt Donoghoe

Best Rookie: Tevita Naufahu
Best Performed Signing: Francis Molo
Most Improved: Kurt Dongohoe

TBH, I'd be tempted to put Donoghue above Katoa who went missing in hard games.
I think they were the 3 standouts Herbie value was evident in the games he missed and you can say the same when Kurt missed 2 games Dolphins lost the momentum they had O’Sullivan wasn’t up to what Donga can do.

What order between Herbie, Katoa and Donga doesn’t really matter them 3 so far above the rest.

Bit harsh to criticise Katoa, we never had a full strength pack. It takes a lot to lead a team around every week at such a young age he was always going to have a few bad games.

lol kurts a nrl half playing out of postions, had we not had a stack of injurys we wouldn't seen him , has nothing to do with sean more to do with fact hes not nrl quality half which where he be playing for the fiji side and there were some huge performances molo fin Connie max mark all had huge season

you wonder why we get frustrated at you, donga could have 5 shit games you , rubbish us because it not his fault we as fans want whole team tp do well not just because your met one guy through your mates

It's not so much criticism. More an observation. In the games Herbie was out, barring the last round, Katoa wasn't just quiet but outright bad. I know he had excuses with the inability of our reserve grade forward pack to go with other teams. TBH, I'm not even sure I'd give him 3rd place. Specially in the second half of the season, Finefeuiaki was really good. JMK also despite having the same problem playing behind a reserve grade pack. Hammer also was good. Not close to the centre Herbie is and neck and neck with Fuller for a better fullback. Frank Molo was good to. Surprised me.

All I can say, IMO definitely #1 Herbie, #2 Donoghue.

Bostock was having a barnstormer of a year until he was injured. His trajectory is very impressive. First year when he was in and out of the team I thought he probably won't make it. Last year he was rookie of the year. Improved drastically but still had too many bad mistakes and not enough run metres. I thought he only got that award due to the strict criteria and lack of genuine contenders. This year until he was injured, I thought he was the best winger in the competition.

Did you vote for Donoghoe in the members MVP that the club sent out via email yesterday? :)

I agree, packs that aren't going forward make their halfback look like shit.

With so many missing, Id say Katoa did very well in some games to achieve what we did.

Dolphins Awards on tonight

Who will take out the awards?
👇

1. Wahl Fan MVP
2. Rookie of the Year
3. Best Back
4. Best Forward
5. Most Consistent
6. Players Player
7. Player of the Year

I reckon most of them will be dominated by Katoa, Herbie & Donga aside from rookie of course.

I voted for Donoghoe in the Fan MVP award although won't be shocked if Hammer gets most fan votes.
