I think it may take a season to prove he is a coach people want to play for. Nailing down targets is still not coming easy
Once Woolf breaks through the Bennett curse the floodgates will open for Dolphins until he achieves a sustained breakthrough getting the big fish will be hard.

Dolphins done really well to cash in on the Cowboys cutting Hammer and Broncos dropping the ball on Herbie.

Redcliffe is a wonderful area to live and players as they're on the higher end can afford to live in Newport and Scarborough so once the Bennett curse is gone the area will be way more attractive.

Pathways and Juniors are the most important component of any Dolphins success. They really need the likes of Waqa, Jackson, Walsh, Rasmussen, Naufahu and Nonu to make the next step forward like Katoa, Plath, Bostock and Fuller done in 2024. The best way to get superstars into a team without buying them is to develop them something Storm do so well. Dolphins are on the right path with this led by Kurt Richards.

I'm confident in Woolf he's had success in England, he's had success with Tonga in fact very incredible success with Tonga he was there long before the players all committed to them and he's coached at various levels including QCup head coach, NRL assistant coach at Newcastle and coached Bulldogs at SG Ball level. Woolf has done the hardest yards possible to the NRL.

Bennett was signed to Saints, Newcastle, Brisbane Broncos 2.0 and Souths Sydney 1.0 to create instant short-term success there was no future planning. At the end of his first Brisbane stint it was all becoming about results. This is why all his successors have failed.

At Souths Brisbane 1.0, Canberra, Brisbane Broncos 1.0 and Dolphins it was all about rebuilding or building the club up from the foundations. Canberra's success under Sheens can largely be attributed to what Bennett done in 1987, Bennett built Souths Brisbane up to be very competitive in the 1980's including winning a premiership with them in his second stint before the rapid fall of the BRL began to happen after a spike in success between 1980-85 for the BRL, Bennett started the Broncos from scratch cutting nearly all the players he first recruited by the time they won the title and Dolphins he had to create where they were on the backfoot straight away more so due to Queensland Covid laws preventing them talking face to face to players outside of Queensland between December 2021 to March 2022 - documented on Dawn of the Dolphins doco.

Seems unwanted
Noise is getting louder that Oloapu has already moved back to Redcliffe where his family is from
Would be a very good signing if his neck is ok and with the Bulldogs paying a significant % of his contract for the next 2 or 3 years.

I haven't looked into it but I wonder if he has come home to get on with the next stage of his life because he was given bad news by the doctors.

Why was he fourth string? He was recruited when he was 18, then sat out the entire year last year and is now 20 or 20 soon.

Drew Hutchinson and Toby Sexton and an 19 year-old who hasn't even played NSW Cup yet? All I can say is the Dolphins will happily take Oloapu.

I've seen him play twice. The U19s Origin game and Aus Schoolboys vs PNG U19s. I had heard several people talking about him so I paid attention to him. What can I say? I know for a fact at that age and younger certain players with the right connections and right people talking them up but mediocre at best get selected in rep teams. Judging from the SOO U19s game, Mitchell is not only one of them, he is one of the worst. Commentators seemed to think it was good for a halfback not to pass but just run straight and hard and get smashed.

In the Aus schoolboys game he was better but still far from one of the best on the field. One of the worst.

But that is only 2 games so I could be wrong. He's a halfback regardless and there is no way he's better than Katoa. So Oloapu 5/8, Katoa half might be very good but not this season. That halves combo is just too young and inexperienced.

Only be two years as that's how long is left on his Bulldogs deal.

Looking at some social media pages I don't think Broncos fans are happy at Oloapu signing.

The Dolphins are reportedly considering entering the race for Parramatta Eels playmaker Dylan Brown after his agent shopped him around to NRL rivals amid his get-out clause.

Brown has until Round 10 to trigger an extension clause with the Eels, but has officially been placed on the open market following a series of emails from his manager Chris Orr.

That was quick. Brown and his running game might compliment Katoa and his ball playing very well.

Been travelling around Europe. I am so tired. I might not even have posted about going after brown. However, if someone has seen that post. Can you let me know if I posted it. I feel I am going mad taking my kids around foreign countries
