That's right. Katoa half, Hunt 5/8 for next year and 2026 might be very good. Bit of a gamble but what isn't? Who thought Isaako was goIng to play as well as he has the last 2 years?
no way hes coming here to play 6 champ can tell you now

Hunt has now declared that he will sign with a club who are most likely to win a premiership. He may not consider the Dolphins to be in that category.

I still think the Dolphins will win their first title before Brisbane wins their next. I have mixed feelings with the Hunt situation. He would certainly help but the cap might take a big hit. I don't want them to pay top dollar for this spud.

100%. I don't think he is an elite player either, and I didn't think it when the Dragons signed him either.

I'm glad the broncos have come in, hope they get him.

DOLPHINS’ SURPRISE ROLE FOR HUNT

Sean O’Sullivan is the other halfback who could be looking for a new home if Ben Hunt ends up at the Dolphins. What’s interesting is the Dolphins want Hunt to play a running five-eighth role with young gun Isaiya Katoa continuing to develop in the chief playmaking role. Katoa continued his phenomenal rise nailing the winning field goal for Tonga against the Kiwis on the weekend.

While O’Sullivan has struggled to cement a permanent NRL spot, he showed with his stunning 40 metre field goal in the win over the Warriors in golden point late in the season how he can also handle the clutch moments. Given his exceptional kicking game and game management, O’Sullivan would be a more than handy pick up for a club like the Dragons on a fraction of the wage Hunt was on.

I think Hunt is a very overrated halfback but I think to be a running 5/8 is maybe his best position provided he is partnered with a good, playmaking halfback, which Katoa is.

Did he try tell you Katoa was moving out of 7 and hunt coming in?

I am not sure what he is watching. But for the life of me, it can’t be rugby league. I swear he watches a different game

You really don't rate Katoa, do you? He will be the halfback next year unless he is injured no matter what Hunt does.
no i allways liked hm just belive we shouldnt be pinning our hopes on a kid , for one reason only kids like him could go down hill pretty quickly on the field not hard to get taken over by another half that may come through n future

He wasn't rushed in. If anything, Wayne was too cautious IMO. But now he's ready to step up for the whole season.

We were in with a fight for the top 8 both years, with Katoa in the halves. He was bled at the right time and rested at the right time.

No way was he there too early. It’s all about being rested. And now he has the runs on the board at an early age.

He is going to be a gun.

And it's hard for a young halfback even behind a gun pack. Katoa has had to deal with half the first choice pack being out injured for 2 years.
