They may not have to cut loose SOS. Even if they do, they still have to pay him. I don't imagine any other club being interested in his services (SOS, that is). I do agree with you though. Hunt is odds on in wearing a Dolphin jersey in '25.

For better or worse. He's a gun hooker for sure but not sure about having him play in the halves.

hunt coming here ( as he be wanting 3 years min ( and you you can bet he want no less than what hes on now ) and we could be using that money on props i can see sos going but wont be hunt replacing him

Depends om demand. If no one is willing to pay a lot more, it'll be fine. But they won't allow him to take half as much at Dolphins than he could get at the Dogs for example.

I think like few clubs we have space soon broncos having clean out cobbo will test mark gc having a clean out more than boyd will go jac contract ripped up and they having clean out plus chocks having one i think there your four other players

the fact hunts got house just round corner from gc ground would suggest he will either commute from there or stay there

Ben Hunt is a weak mental player, he won’t want to get slaughtered, and have his wife defending him on social media again. Stick to your price I say.

What he might, or probably will get is one more year St George was unwilling to give him. So it's really about 950k for one year or something like 700k x 2. Presuming he will get about 700k a year for 2 years wherever he signs.

I don't see why the Broncos are trying to sign him. Is Mam going to sit out the entire season and then Hunt will be a hooker/interchange utility for the second year? And I don't see how they can afford it under the cap. Haas and Walsh both on a mil a season or more. Carrigan and Mam on just a bit less. Staggs being among the highest paid centres and Adam Reynolds on very decent money. Now they have re-signed Willison and had to at least double his salary. No, I guess they are merely trying to push up his price for us or Gold Coast.

Hunt won’t play hooker. For years at the Dragons there were calls for him to play hooker he didn’t want to.

I don’t mind us signing him at the right price. However, for mine his attitude stinks and his mental fortitude for a sports person isn’t where I’d want it to be.

As an ex dragons supporter, I hated it when he signed with us. And he really didn’t do anything to change my mind in fairness. Only really good performances I saw from him were in a maroon jersey, not one with a red v

I always rated him as a hooker but only for 40min a game. Always thought he was a massively overrated halfback. Though his running game but lack of playmaking ability might make him a really good foil at 5/8 for Katoa, who is pretty much the opposite, for the next 2 years.

That's right. Katoa half, Hunt 5/8 for next year and 2026 might be very good. Bit of a gamble but what isn't? Who thought Isaako was goIng to play as well as he has the last 2 years?
