Never made much sense us going after him. Would have thought Manly, St George. Tigers or a few others could use him.
If Dragons had Katoa, Cleary, Hughes or peak Joey available to play halfback they wouldn’t sign them for obvious reasons…./

I was at the Challenge cup final a few weeks back where Warrington lost to Hull KR. Williams was basically missing in action for 80 mins
Good thing is that Woolf shut it down today and he wouldn’t lie about this he was upfront about Hunt and DCE and later on saying he only entertain DCE on the condition Katoa is halfback and it’s Katoa team meaning DCE wouldn’t accept conditions.

I still think the 5/8 after Nikorima will come from within whether it’s Averillo, Donga or Fineanganofo. I’ve naturally seen a lot of Averillo play and always behaved his best spots are 1 and 6 rarely played them at Canterbury bar a good run at 1 in 2022 when Potter was coach and eventually Donga will evolve into a one position player if he continues his upward trajectory as an NRL player. Fineanganofo has been earmarked as a potential NRL player he probably go through the Donga phase of being the 9/13 utility on the bench. He’s playing lock this weekend for Capras.

Did you get to watch the 1985 Kenny v Sterling, 1987 Anderson & Eadie or 1994 the Offiah try cup finals?
Went every year from 1980 hull v hull kr to 2007 at the new Wembley . 85 great final chicka ferguson , Kenny, sterling . Halifax v saints another good final. Favourite was Featherstone v Hull. Used to sell out 100.000 people now you would be lucky to get half that. Every pub and club used to run trips.

He has gone off the boil recently. Might be a blip it could be the end.
used to love Wembley weekend away with the lads
I hate London we ususally drive down stay at the Mrs cousins and then get the tube in from Stanmore. It's such a shame the the highlight of the RL calendar can't even Half fill Wembley

The old games are all on YouTube but depresses me watching English footy as it was so good from the mid 80s until 1994 and been rubbish since. At least here the NRL is above the old Sydney comp but I don’t like how the Brisbane comp got consigned to the rubbish bin and been largely written out of history. I love some of the BRL pages that keep the memories alive.

There was a split match between GB and Australia early 90s some great games but now it’s the length of the moon

This year was a shocker they closed off half of he upper tier behind the cameras so only top tier seats could be seen on screen. even then it was empty. The thing is there is nothing. No fan village no interactive stuff just get off the train go to Wembley watch some games train home. Not even merch stalls etc they could literally host it anywhere and it would make no difference.

To make it worse Stanmore is now in the ULEZ zone by 1km so its like £12.50 to drive to the station then £4.20 each to get the tube to Wembley Park. Thats before yo pay £7 for a pint of shit beer and £9 for a burger and chips. You may aswell get a crate and sit at home and watch it

Yes the RFL or whatever they call themselves now a days have killed the game. It won’t be long before they are part time again. The clubs are dying, there’s only Leeds who can make a quid due to the hospitality and hotel they own.

A lot of fans in the UK don’t want the NRL investment at least V’Landys knows how to make the game money and lots of it. All the club grants are more than the salary cap, the NRL still makes massive profit after distribution of grants, no NRL club is in financial trouble and the game is about to make a record TV deal. If I’m the SL & RFL I’m saying to V’Landys it’s all yours to run.

Sadly RU going pro in 1995 saw alot of the guys (Welsh especially) go back to RU.

For those who dont' really understand the UK class issue on RL and how badly RL has been held back by the establishment i recommend you read Rugby's Class War - Bans, boot money and parliamentary battles. its by David Hinchliffe a former MP for Wakey and out and out RL fan who was at the centre of getting RL played by the UK military where it was banned until the mid 90s.

It amazes me RU can fill Twickenham for a borefest and the RFL cannot fill a stadium for the first Kangaroo tour in 20 years.

The issues are that Football is the main sport and gets most tv and media coverage nearly all the money from the likes of sky go to getting Premiership TV rights. RU gets more press than it deserves due to the game being the domain of the toffs and them holding the strings on tv and media companies see the book i mention above for a proper look at this. Even Cricket barely gets much of a look in these days.

I'd welcome the NRL buying SL. It would be a bloodbath and many clubs would simply be binned, the issue is they all think they are too important to go. who serioulsly cares that Batley won the cup 3 times 125 years ago. Sadly the make up of the league means all these clubs have a vote and they will not vote for their own execution. They would rather have managed decline over 20years because in 20years time it is someone elses problem

It’s not teams like Batleys fault . They are on a better financial footing than some of the super league teams, they cut there cloth according to finances. CAS have had plenty of money and done nothing same with Bradford over spending. Wigan and saints don’t even own there ground and them 2 are the most successful

super leagues biggest issue is because all clubs have seat on board , theres no independent, and most the clubs are up shit street so someone like nrl with money was allways going be a savior as tod not on same much bs and never on same page

they ain't going have a inexperienced , half by him it be someone with experience and doubt it be jake or any our juniors no way is woolf stupid enough to put to junior halfs in same team

Obviously RL is never going to challenge football in England but what are the chances of it doing to RU what it doing in NZ? i.e. Not "taking over" but making very serious inroads to the supporter base and juniors playing the games.

Junior Tupou has linked with the Sydney Roosters effective immediately. I thought it was strange that he was all of a sudden omitted for tonight's game. Now an opening in the top 30 to be filled by someone before Tuesday.

Broncos PR lapdog Badel has done an absolute hit job on Cobbo today even going back to the 2022 season for his mishaps. This reflects worse on the Broncos as they knew all this in 2022 and even with the podcast unloading on Walters could have sacked him and kept Herbie now both of them signed with Dolphins. Broncos have the most talented and best team on paper their values as a club less than zero.
