Agree completely. Kodi has been playing so well but I'm sure Woolf knows what he's doing.
Has anyone notified Kodi of this swap? Kodi is having a career year and has been magnificent as a Dolphin. There won't be a trade of any sort. That would be a significant downgrade.

This is just a hunch from me.

I wouldn't be surprised, not sure if it's still possible, if we moved to get him this year. Bostock out, we are running short on troops. Clearly on the nose with Maguire (who is a looney).
The only problem with that is there's not any room in the roster. They would have to offload someone in order to accommodate Cobbo. Reports were circulating that Tupou was free to negotiate with another club in time for June 30, but obviously that didn't eventuate. They would have to send a player to the Broncos in return. Tupou, Feagai or Fuller would be a suitable return, but is an unlikely occurrence.

He hasn't won a premiership. Like I said earlier, I'd be very surprised if he departs in 2026. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why leave the NRL when you are enjoying the best form of your life? The ESL is where players go to die. You'd have to be pretty silly to assume that Georgey boy would walk into a starting spot upon arrival.

George isn't be chased to play in QLD Cup but for the life of me, I can't understand why Kodi would want to leave to play in the ESL. And I can't really see how George will be a good 5/8. He's a very good halfback but not sure about 5/8.

Woolf pours cold water on the pursuit of Williams and says categorically Kodi won't be going anywhere next year.

There we go. Usually when things don't make sense, it's because it is total bullshit. Splitting up the best halves combo in the comp was never believable to me.

That's where the injury dispensation comes in. We have had an unusual number of season ending injuries. Its been applied for and granted in the past.

Soccer has a similar rule around signing goal keepers outside the transfer windows.

Warrington 5/8 George Williams has been linked to a move back to the NRL with the Dolphins but the club have rejected it!

Coach Kristian Woolf said, “I saw the report yesterday. Kodi is not up for sale or going to be swapped. That’s not going to happen.”

Todays captains run presser on the Dolphins page later today.

Correct top 30 is currently full as Naufahu got promoted earlier this year (source Joel Gould). Top 30 and salary cap dispensation can only happen if it occurs in authorised representative football eg Origin All Stars Pacific Cup England series or if it’s an illness style injury eg Cody Ramsay.

Dolphins for dispensation for Tom Gilbert in 2023 as it happened in Origin and Manly got the same for Turbo after game 2. This allowed Dolphins to get Josh Kerr early.

The only dispensation a club gets for game, training & self inflicted injuries is selecting train & trial players before round 11 based on an application basis and Dolphins were successful last year to use Hubner vs Broncos when Kaufusi, Plath (suspended), Donga (suspended), Gilbert & Flegler all unavailable may have been more and the following week vs Eels and whilst Hammer out were allowed to use Fuller. The match payments come off the cap but that’s only 3k per game.

As round 11 is long gone players like Peter Hola, Josh Allen and LJ Nonu don’t need any applications just 3k match payments and the 3 game quota before development upgrade which this time of year is about 30-35k and less as every week passes.

Woolf has never coached George Williams either coached against him in 2021-22 when he was St Helens coach and Williams at Warrington. When Williams was at Wigan Woolf was in the QCup and in 2019 Williams was at Canberra and Woolf assistant and interim coach at Newcastle. Woolf has poured cold water as been reported today’s presser will be a good one to watch it appears courier mail finally made an appearance hahahahaha.

The halfback Woolf had connection with was Dodd and he hasn’t worked out at Souths and I can see Souths writing him off as a bad investment at season’s end and he returns to super league.

1) The Weather
2) The High Quality Compeition
3) The Highest quality stadia and training facilities. Seriously have a look at Bradfords (Former ESL currently Championship) ground Odsal, it is literally a hole in the floor. (the site was a former quarry that was then being used as a landfill tip. Ernest Call M.B.E., the Director of Cleansing for Bradford City Council, devised a system of controlled tipping that saw 140,000 cartloads of household waste deposited to form the characteristic banking at Odsal.) From the never wrong and highly rated https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odsal_Stadium
Other great uk stadiums for ESL would include the High Quality 'Jungle' at Castleford (CasVegas to the locals) if anyone has ever watched the TV comedy series the league of Gentleman think Royston Vasey and that is pretty much Castleford
4) Those Sell out crowds.

I was at the Challenge cup final a few weeks back where Warrington lost to Hull KR. Williams was basically missing in action for 80 mins

Never made much sense us going after him. Would have thought Manly, St George. Tigers or a few others could use him.
