This is exactly the point. Keep developing and working hard. Beat out the people in front of you. Deserve your spot.

The leap from youngster to mainstay in any sport is huge, but hard to recognise just by eye.

It’s not about highlights reel moments. Or YouTube clips. In my sport it’s all about decision making, error reduction and consistency, especially in high pressure game situations.

I love these YouTube clips you see if all the good plays a player does. They are totally useless. You get a 2min clip of a player that’s played thousands of minutes. It’s literally less than 1% of their game. Most useless thing in sport.

Show me clips of their mistakes and how they react in game. That’s a better indicator.

I still think he will be in the round 1 team on the bench and we've seen from coaches this week they're not prepared to have four specialist forwards on the bench worked for Penrith today having Daine Lawrie on the bench especially with Maclean going down. Ricky Stuart said he picked one bench spot for a player who can cover all sorts of roles. Woolf has extended his contract in advance so he's done something at training and in the trials what we wouldn't notice.

Correct it's a squad game and you need players with serious flexibility this is why players like Donoghue and Plath are so valuable and it showed today Penrith carrying a utility back on the bench and Ricky Stuart carried a utility too. Penrith's got highlighted due to Maclean going down and Lawrie scores two tries.

You mentioned in another post and sorry I didn't reply to it about if we cross paths you have a beer whilst I don't drink except when I catch up with a Dolphins fan called Rohan yeah if we cross paths yeah a coffee, beer or meal with any Dolphins fan basically. I live in Sydney but very frequently in Newcastle, Canberra and Port Macquarie. I might head up further north during the mid-term breaks at work.

As for Gus Gould there's a YouTube clip of him giving high praise to the Dolphins and Kristian Woolf there's also a link on some of the Dolphins Facebook pages.

I'd say the biggest difference is that Woolf is trying to turn Donoghue into a utility. Kodi is already the real deal.
