Second rowers usually play 80min. The best do. If he gets fitter so that he doesn't miss tackles, I think he'd do well at centre with Herbie the other.
Not like a traditional 2nd rower, I mean more like how Bellamy uses NAS. He's been awesome on the edge this year, I reckon Val could slot in like that.

Probably could make a go of it but IMO he'd be better to get fitter in order to play centre.

Mam anyone? Clubs sniffing around him with plenty of big dollars off contract at the broncos.

Katoa 7 and Mam 6.

Young pairing not ideal, but future in the halves secure for a while.

It’s got to be better than SoS. Kodi at 14 if it isn’t going well. Milf as a backup.

Just spitballing.

Kodi at 14 covering everything bar a forward position is great. 9 and 13 excluded

Broncs will do whatever it takes to keep Mam, Walsh and Carrigan I reckon - they are the lifeblood of that team and all really close. It would take probably a millon dollar contract to lure Mam away, and at that price I don't reckon its worth it - would rather give to Dearden.

He (Mam) is just getting better and better. And only an 250k now. They say he could possibly get 4x that on the open market.

Kodi has to be 14 unless there is an injury crisis. And the Hammer must be fullback. IMO Wayne should get used to the Hammer at fullback, JMK at hooker, Gilbert lock, Herbie centre and build a team around that.

100% but I genuinely reckon based on this year at least, that Kodi should be our first choice playmaker. Let Milf, SOS and Katoa fight it out for the other half spot - they have all just been too inconsistent. Katoa needs another 2-3 years and has more upside than the others looking forward. Milf has to be the most frustrating player ever in a team I've supported. I just don't get it - he is capable of brilliance and has strung it together consistently in 2015 - yet he is just so hot and cold.

I like Kodi as a player too but these days it's a game of 17 on 17. I think Kodi's best position is starting off the bench. His versatility is working against him but it is what it is.

He is without a doubt our best interchange player which will work against him. I thought he was a bad signing at the start of the year - but he's really changed my mind.

To me Katoa and SOS are genuine halfbacks. It's a fight between them. My money is on Kotoa from round 1 next year. Then its up to NIko and Milf to fight it out for 5/8. Hopefully in 2025 we have a good, long term 5/8.

It's strange to think that Milf and Kodi are both 29 - it seems like Kodi has been going round a lot longer than Milf.

They are both only signed for next year. If either have a bad season it's hard to see them getting another gig, so hopefully playing for their careers brings out their best.

I still remember Milf playing fullback for Canberra. Seems like he's been around forever. I didn't realise he wasn't even 30 yet. Hopefully he can train really hard in the off season and get a one year extension.

I was literally just looking for this video below on this. His back-half of the season playing fullback/bench for Canberra was just ridiculous. He was just so quick and agile. Apart from 2015 where I still don't think he was quite as good consistently, it's sad seeing how his career played out.

He just wasn't prepared to train hard and stay in shape.

Was really too bad for the Broncos. His 1mil a year then was a little generous but not overly generations.

But in hindsight, crazy to sign him for more than 2 years. He needs the motivation.

It's probably that simple. Just a shame.

Was a disaster for the Broncos. Cost them over 5 years of not a serious team.
For sure mate. Him and Boyd particularly. The stories from Benji when he was there about Milf's training attitude + other stuff like playing pokies late before the semis kind of sum it all up. It's just a shame because he could have been anything really.

He's been ok this year. Apparently he's not on much money. I don't know why Wayne isn't starting him.

Manly have some big salary cap issues and Ethan Bullemor is off contract. Not a big name signing but a pretty decent and still pretty young middle forward. I think he'd be well worth signing.

Manly and the Broncos are heading for some very serious salary cap issues. Broncos if they keep Haas ae going to be in a lot of trouble with Walsh and/or Mam and/or Cobbo.

I think Mam is the one Wayne would most be interested in.

As for Manly, Bullemor would be ok if we can send Kenny Bromwich off to the ESL. Unless Tom Trbojevic became available. A backrow of Lemuelu, Haumole Olakau’atu, Tom Gilbert at lock and Bullemor on the bench would work as well.

COULD BE SQUEEZED OUT THE BRONCOS

  • Corey Oates - Good winger but close to the end of his career.
  • Kurt Capewell - Good second rower but close to the end of his career.
  • Brendan Piakura - Had a blinder last week.
  • Jordan Riki - No thanks.
  • Kotoni Staggs - Gun centre but we have Herbie already. Prefer Herbie
  • Kobe Hetherington - Prefer Flegler
  • Corey Paix - No thanks.
  • Xavier Willison - who?

BIG GUNS

  • Payne Haas - Would have to offer him more than 1.1 mil a year. No thanks. 1.1mil is max for a prop.
  • Reece Walsh - Hammer almost as good, if not as good.
  • Ezra Mam - Might be a priority for Wayne.
  • Selwyn Cobbo - Overrated IMO.
  • Adam Reynolds - Obviously close to the end of his career.
