No to Galvin from us
Good don't want the distractions.

I see Moses has 4 current Dolphins players on his books - Kaufusi, Nikorima, O'Sullivan & Bromwich and 2 former Dolphins players Bromwich & Wallace. All players who are old and wise enough to make up their own minds a very rare quality in footballers today.

DCE quest endorsed by Dolphin with most to lose

Joel Gould AAP

Dolphins playmaker Kodi Nikorima is not just unfazed by the prospect of the club signing Daly Cherry-Evans, he has endorsed it.

The Manly skipper, who will leave the club at the end of 2025, is edging closer to making a call about if and where he will play in the NRL next year.

Dolphins five-eighth Nikorima is contracted for 2026. He is in a position, along with star half Isaiya Katoa, that would come under threat if 36-year-old Cherry-Evans was to sign at the club.

Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf and CEO Terry Reader have both said there is salary cap space for Cherry-Evans in 2026, but Nikorima is not daunted.

"It doesn't bother me at all," Nikorima said when asked about the prospect of Cherry-Evans joining the Dolphins.

"If we were able to get someone like DCE in, he is a world class player and someone we could all learn off."

That attitude is a sign of how comfortable 31-year-old Nikorima is in his own skin and with the thriving combination he has with Katoa.

The pair have been in fine fettle the past three weeks in wins over the Gold Coast, Penrith and Melbourne.

Their best game as a duo was the 42-22 success over the Storm where Katoa had five try assists and Nikorima one, plus plenty involvement in much of the Dolphins' strong play.

"Isaiya leads the team and I get to play off the back of him. Since last year we have clicked and love playing together," Nikorima said.

"My best asset is my running game and backing my instincts, same as Hammer (fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow). Isaiya allows us to play our game."

The Dolphins, in 10th, play third-placed Canberra on Sunday chasing four wins on the trot for the first time in their history.

The Melbourne performance has given the side belief.

"It was definitely one of our better ones this year against a quality side," Nikorima said.

"For us it is about backing it up. We are full of energy and confidence and hopefully we can replicate that, but it's a tough ask going down to Canberra.

"They are playing some great footy at the moment but we have a side full of belief."

Former St George Illawarra prop Frank Molo will make his club debut against the Raiders in place of injured forward Felise Kaufusi.

Woolf has repeatedly put a line through signing DCE. And it seems he might have played a year too long anyway. Ditto for Ben Hunt. Broncos have a 700k white elephant for this year and next in Hunt. At least Manly are letting DCE go at almost the right time.

Now I've said, both will probably have blinders this weekend.

I sent this to Joel Gould - Woolf said on Triple M day on Saturday after Panthers game whoever plays 5/8 has to work around Katoa being the halfback. I think that alone means he's a Chook as Politis will give him every key.

First loss of the season and if Canberra lose this weekend still 2 more wins than any other side. Just an off first half and a better performance in the second half.
First loss against the first good team they have played.

The rest of their opposition until now have been shit apart from the sharks, however they haven't been what they have been in past years.

Thats just my take, I reckon you'll see them fade. As they play inform teams.

It's a valid take.

What's in our favour is the craziest soft draw any team been given even during Origin we play Dolphins without Hammer, Plath & Gilbert, we play Broncos without their reps and we play Souths without Mitchell. We also get Cowboys after Origin it's so super soft and blessed we just have to cash in on it.

As for tonight everything that could go wrong in the first half went wrong and I hope Gus doesn't say we won the second half 18-8 as it glosses over the first 40 it wasn't good. But the Broncos second half had so much Storm about it and we saw that finally catch up to Storm last week.

If Dolphins can win against Canberra they've gone from every chance of not winning a game to a top 4 candidate in 4 weeks.

Thats all well and good. However, to win the comp, you will have to play full strength teams, outside of origin period.

I would go so far as to say, the soft draw hinders your chances rather than lifts them. I would prefer to bet on a battle-hardened team rather than the team coming into finals underdone.

However, I am far from an expert, so we shall see.

I like Melbourne, and Id back Penrith to be better towards the back end.

Considering Dolph Dolph had no idea about the Dolphins v Souths game swap and the announcement the club made I doubt he have much clue about anything else.
Well sorry to upset you but I don't follow the news cycle 24/7 like you. I know barring an injury crisis at a few clubs, Bulldogs have no chance of a premiership this year. As a matter of fact, I'm tipping the Dolphins to beat them and beat them in the final standings of the regular season.
