Apparently he was a prodigy in the age limited grades but as soon as he hit the open age group, wasn't big enough.
He captained that gun 2022 SG Ball side that was still reaping the benefits of the pathways system Gould had built. He just hasn't grown since he was 18-19.

Cleary is responsible for that system. Mostly anyway.

PHINS EYE MORE UK BLOOD

Another Englishman is on the radar of NRL clubs. St Helens prop Matty Lees has played more than 160 games in the front row for the Super League giants and a handful of Test matches for England.

NRL clubs are now circling the 27-year-old as he eyes off a switch to the NRL alongside St Helens teammate Morgan Knowles.

It is understood Knowles has already agreed to join the Dolphins next season, making Lees a logical target for the south-east Queensland club as they look to beef up their front row.

Lees also played under Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf at St Helens and shapes as a ready-made recruit for the clubs that lose out in the Tom Hazelton sweepstakes.

Sport Confidential understands that talks with NRL clubs are in their furtive stages but Lees is off-contract at the end of the season and has a genuine interest in trying his hand in the NRL before he runs out of time.

He will have no shortage of suitors.

Does this mean the deal with the other one fell through?

matty lees is another target for woolf
I'd suggest Junior Nsemba out of Wigan. 1.95m 105kg. He's just exteneded his contract for 6 years but he's only 20. so perhaps a long term prospect

Out of interest i'll just put in that last night Wigan lost to Leigh, 1-0 in extra time! i'll try and get a link to watch the game but its sounds like a good old fashioned slog

Sounds like a very boring game to watch.
