Every player has to perform well they can’t take things for granted. Gould has installed that at Canterbury and I love it.
lol jaymane was one our stars last season he knows what it takes stay in sides experienced guys know there expectations

Averillo could go to 6.

It’s a possiblity
I think it might be his best position. In the second last game last season, can't remember the team, he had a blinder in his first game at 5/8. Was pretty poor, like the rest of the team in the last game against Newcastle.

Broncos game of all games Averillo played his best game for the club and his best game in his career outside of Canterbury v Saints games.

Heads dropped after that diabolical bunker call from that moment V'Landys picked his winner and nothing anyone can do.

Everyone was disappointed but now the dust has settled, I think it was the right call and Newcastle were the better team on the day. A couple of losses which should have been wins earlier in the season turned out to be so disastrous. But at least we beat the Broncos and I think will again this year. At this stage in the history of our club, I think it's a huge deal. Have some of the best emerging talents in the area choose a winning team over the Broncos. No repeat of what happened to multiple Gold Coast teams for the Dolphins.

Lets hope you're right. I do think the rebirth of the NYC is a massive win for Dolphins because it speeds up their junior pathways and they'll have 4 Connell clubs and 3 Meninga clubs feeding into that making it so very strong.

DOLPHINS

First-choice: Isaiya Katoa, Kodi Nikorima
Back-up: Sean O’Sullivan, Jake Averillo, Kurt Donoghoe, John Fineanganofo*

Analysis: Katoa is a brilliant young player who seems destined to become one of the NRL’s premier halves, with plenty of development still in him with his 22nd birthday looming next month. Nikorima, 30, provides some veteran nous alongside him, though the Dolphins have openly courted marquee halves as they’ve become available, despite quickly bowing out of the race for Dylan Brown. O’Sullivan is a feisty back-up, while Averillo and Donoghoe are versatile plug-ins and Fineanganofo got trial minutes.

So the trial game was garbage basically. Forwards bullied backs didn't click and defensively Campbell et al ripped through them almost at will.

However for some reason James Graham on his bye round podcast has picked the Dolphins to finish 7th. Fuller is the biggest loss. Hammer is just not a fullback and with fuller at the back and hammer in the center there is just something there that is frightening to watch. Without fuller its well flat. Bostock i'm annoyed with yes i know i've not been a big fan but i even picked him for my supercoach team this year and he decides to play ballet and not only injures himself but gets a penalty. I will not Walsh did that sort of thing last year and no body batted an eyelid.

SOS came on and definitely settled the game his experience did shine through and that is something Katoa will develop however SOS is still the back up in my view.

Wasn't that bad. Trial game I mean but certainly tempered expectations. Agree 100% about Hammer. Modern day fullbacks have to have good ball skills. Hammer doesn't. You can bet he was the biggest, fastest kid in his grade growing up and they just passed the ball to him and stood back to watch him run. Now he can hardly pass the ball.

I might have exaggerated a bit. He can pass but nowhere near good enough for the good, modern fullbacks. Just off the top of my head, Hammer will have the worst passing game of all the fullbacks. Not the worst fullback, not even close but the worst passing game.

Yes indeed Isaako not a fullback and on the record for that.

By mid-season Fuller is back and currently they have options like Donoghue, Farnworth and Averillo.

Hammer will get first chance and wouldn't surprise me if Averillo is next.
