COMING OF AGE CONTINUES FOR ‘EXCITING’ KATOA
Few doubt Isaiya Katoa’s standing as one of the NRL’s brightest half prospects. So talented is the Tongan international, he played three games at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup - two years before his NRL debut. Yet, over the last two seasons the 21-year-old has been in-and-out of first grade, not yet capable of piecing together the levels of consistency demanded by elite NRL No.7s.
Over the opening rounds of this season, a switch seems to have flicked for the Dolphins halfback. Despite his side’s poor beginning of the season, he has constantly stood out as their best player. Coach Kristian Woolf said as much in his press conference following their first win of the season against the Titans.
“He’s been one of our best over the first five weeks,” Woolf said. “He’s been really good.”
I think we can put to bed any idea DCE is going to come to the Dolphins.
