Round 8: Dolphins vs NZ Warriors

I absolutely loved the way he played last season but he isn’t a shadow of that player this year and he needs to pull his finger out quick smart if we are going to make a run for the finals

Gilbert, Flegler and Knowles have been the major disappointments for me. Far too many penalties, ruck infringements, handling errors and missed tackles from this trio. They are solely responsible for the predicament the Dolphins find themselves in. It's hard for any HB when they are playing behind a subpar pack. The Dolphins are always chasing their tail and won't have any success until they catch up with it.

I have no doubt that he'll get back to his best after two long years out of the game. But, that may not be till next year when he moulds his body to suit the modern game.
 
well go off n find new team ffs we just lost last two games to form sides of the comp ffs jmk has been huge loss does lot more than people think

It’s not about running off and finding a new team. What an inane comment! It’s about recognising that this team has played nowhere near its potential for two years. Sure, they have had players out injured at vital times; JMK a case in point. But it is not the fans fault that the club did not recruit adequate cover for JMK and it is not our fault that Katia has stalled in his development. We don’t run away but it is reasonable of us to expect the glaring issues to be fixed.

it is about running off, as you will never be happy we only just lost to two the form sides yes they are issues but sitting there calling for heads of players n coaches to be changed every 5 seconds not going help , yeah things aint going right but ..... me clubs never going kep fans happy , like recuritment of some our players fans sit there n nit pick why they were recurited but lat year most them guys proved wieght n gold



some people in here need take a chill pill changing teams every weeek for diffrent player is just down right dumb he hasnt changed much n we keept two of the form teams with in couple points funny that


when will fans ever be happy , they wont

I agree. And that bold part is the glaring point, and its not solely down to the club, we recruited a 4th Lock for godsakes, and no adequate 9, and no solid 5/8th (its just my opinion). And we bring in a reserve grade 7 to play 9, and we have an english half coming next year for god knows what reason, when we have the most promising young 7 already at the club, with a backup 7 trying to play 9. And dont tell me the coach didnt have a say in this, as Im sure he steered us to his english imports.

The best thing about SoS was his father, who is now at Newcastle. His recruitment is spot on. Just look at Newcastle.

I cant read mr.c's posts, and my brain is thanking me for it. However, if anyone here is happy with a squad underperforming to this level, and thinks the coaching staff has nothing to do with it, you're off your rocker. Furthermore, if you're watching these games with the lack of discipline, no direction, and the multitude of unforced errors, and think gees we must be well coached, that'll do me. On top of this, its not as if one players has fallen off a cliff in performance/development. You can sight Katoa, however he has a lot of friends in the sqaud making errors and slowly playing at lower levels each week. Is that on individual performance? or do you think that may be a training ground thing? If a lot of players are dropping off a cliff its down to coaching, if its 1 or 2 I accept blaming the player.
 
So as a fan, ill double down.

Top 8 is a minimum pass mark for this season. If i am unreasonable, happy to be told so.

If we don't get that, questions need to be asked. I tend to be a take action person, especially in all the youth teams i've coached. They all knew I was there to win, and if you were stopping that, I made sure you didn't get many chances to let me down. I would get rid if he cant achieve it. However, i may be too tough.
 
Adding a bit of context. Im an ex-dragons supporter. Go check out Nathan Browns, Steve Price's, Paul MacGregoer's and Hook's management records with the Dragons. All coaches underperformed and undelievered with their respective teams. Yet they all served for many years at the Dragons because they were just happy plodding along. Look where they are now? Trenched in that loser mentality.

As soon as you know your leader isn't going to deliver you need to part ways. not only for the now, but for the long term future of the club as well. Because as soon as you get known as a crap club, try recruiting players. Just ask Dragons fans.

Bennett, went to the Dragons and won the comp in his second year. He wanted a 5 year deal, Doust wouldn't give it to him and gave him 3. After the first year Doust said lets make it 5. Bennett told him to get fucked. Lets not be Doust and the Dragons. Dont accept mediocrity.

FFS you are an emotional guy..and not too bright either. I have never thought about running to support another team and I don’t really know if any player in Reggie’s can do any better at the moment. BUT I do know that there are some players in the NRL side that are not earning their keep..and the captain has to be one of them. Just remember, if they keep playing the mistake riddled footy they are playing and they keep losing and no changes are made to the team then the coach will be proving the definition of insanity. Not asking for changes at this time…just asking for the leaders in the team to step up and lead by example. By the way, it is you who needs to take a chill pill fella. I’m so chilled I’m like an Eskimo in an ice bath.

i am chilled we took two top teams to the limit and people wanted majior changes, woolf has said in past he has the belief in players lie he did last season and it was the end of season that we did well , we cant be changing combinations every week

if your really fans put your nuts on the line and support the team n coach no matter who they have on ffs we in the cop 3 years and we suppose be in top 8 with in 6 games ever season , just not possible sometimes i dont need worry about combinations as like last two games you can tell the teams are nearly there taking two best teams so far this season no easy feet


funny same guys wanted him gone last year after all our looses then we came right

TBH, this season so far, Katoa has been one of our worst. Hopefully with a proper dummy half, he can find some form. If Woolf picks Plath the start at #9 again, even if we end up winning, I'm afraid I might lose my mind. He's a good player. One of our best. He's not a dummy half!

Yep. If the coach isn't under pressure, he should be. Melbourne and the Dogs are must-win games. If we lose both, wouldn't surprise me if Woolf is sacked.
 
Bottled again. 2 weeks and we go down to the top 2 sides by less than 1 score. those 4 points would have pinned those two teams more firmly in the pack and we would be joining that cluster.

My head says last season we started bad and got better so this will be the same but i seriously believe that 4 points will haunt us come the last weekend.
