Round 14: Dolphins vs NQ Cowboys

Looks like teams are getting smaller across the board. The young, smallish Dragons prop Couchman and his identical twin who started at lock dominated the Broncos pack apart from Haas last week. As has been mentioned a number of times, Gilbert is playing very well as a prop. Haven't seen much of Cotter this year but he's in the Origin team so he must be doing ok and he is the smallest of the lot. I believe under 100kg.
Listed as about 95 but is only 5'11, Carrigan is 106kg but is 6'3. With the exception of AFB all players at 120kg or over are like 6'9

I like watching Cotter, just relentless.

end the day a good prop no matter the size has to be one that can do big minutes alot in this day n age can do the full 80 was unheard of a few years back

Most likely the strongest lineup the Dolphins have fielded in their short history. Jake Averillo may have slotted in there somewhere, if not for injury. The Cowboys have surprisingly started well (8-5) and guys like Drinkwater, Chester and Purdue can hurt you. But, they looked pretty ordinary during their last start and on paper, are not as strong as this red hot Dolphin squad. I'd be very disappointed if the away team doesn't walk away with the two points tonight.

One thing I think we can safely say, at least one of the sides is going to score a lot of points.

  • FTS - Cobbo
  • MOTM - Katoa
Since JMK came back, Katoa has improved out of sight. Before JMK came back, he was so bad I was wondering if dropping him was on the cards.

It was about go forward. 7's behind beaten packs have no hope. And our pack was getting beaten with slow service

Picking a winger for MOTM is very rare but he's been so good so far this year. Deserves some more accolades if he keeps playing the way he is.

I'm sure Woolf has laid down the law about not being complacent now probably our best possible team is playing for the first time since maybe round 1 or 2 of our first year. It worries me a little. All the big guns taking it easy thinking someone else is going to win them the game.

So far so good.

I thought both Cowboys try were suspect. The first 50-50. The second was a farce. But shortly before their first, we were on attack and Bostock was very obviously hit in the head by the shoulder with force and nothing resulted from it.

First half best is hard again because it's a good team effort again. But I'll go:

3. Bostock
2. Gilbert
1. JMK
