I'd be phasing out some of the old forwards now. Starting with Nicholls. He goes ok. I don't mean to crticise him but I think need a couple of very enthusiastic young forwards in the team. They will play a few bad games as opposed to Nicholls who almost always goes ok but this forwards pack isn't going to get the job done.
This is what I called for to regenerate the side sooner than later by phasing the older players bar Kaufusi out of the side. The game has changed with 6 agains it’s so much faster.

Josh Kerr just interviewed on channel 9 when he retires he’ll have a long media career whether it’s with legacy networks or running podcasts. He’s such a natural.

Kaufusi was one of the best tonight and is constantly. He could probably go one more season.

If Saifiti and Flegler were fit, Nicholls wouldn't be in the team.

I agree with that. I would be picking Molo before Nicholls at this point in time.

Nicholls in saying all this has done so well out of his career and been good for the Dolphins opening 2 years but time eventually catches up.

If only someone like David Fifita had 1% of Nicholls attitude & application we be talking about him as above the likes of Clyde etc.

Big misses those two.
I reckon Saifiti was close to NSW selection if he wasn't injured but than again NSW bar for 2 games last year have an obsession with thinking edge back rowers can all the sudden become State of Origin middles so maybe Saifiti being a proper middle would have missed out to them thinking even someone like Preston (now gone) could play middle which he never has and never will. Same with Young never a middle & failed when used there or the second rower from Manly (can't spell name). Saifiti was certainly playing his best football and he was in the Dolphins top 2-3 players this year with Katoa and Plath.

That's true. I don't mean to criticise Nicholls. He's had a very good career. But I just think with a bit of a re-working of the 17, Keeley is a better option.

I was happy for Harrison Graham last night. H got through 36 minutes and made 29 tackles without a single miss or ineffective tackle. Considering it was his first game since the final round of 2023, he played all his previous NRL long after the 2023 slide began and had a horror 2024 it was a good bounce back more so considering he missed the Canberra game with a minor 2 week injury and had one game with Capras last week.

H was the first ever Dolphins signing for "useless trivia" in the years to come :)

Forwards minutes
Molo 39
Donoghoe 62
Kaufusi 48
Finefeaiaki 80
Gilbert 57
Stone 64
Lemuelu 29
Nicholls 41
Kerr 24
Graham 36

Considering we were missing Saifiti, Flegler, Plath, JMK, the club has incredible depth in the forwards.

Yep, big effort last night to get the win against a much improved Parra with the return of Moses. I know they are last, but with Moses and Lomax coming back, they will improve.

Depending on how long the coach can keep his son in the team, I think your old team are going to win the spoon. But yeah, if we can get those 4 on the field together for a significant part of the season, I think with Katoa in the halves and Herbie in the backs, we will be VERY hard to beat.

Only way Saints can get rid of Kyle is to get rid of Shane. The only son/nephew remotely NRL standard is of course Nathan Cleary. This includes Sean O'Sullivan.

Eels beat Wests Tigers who are currently in the 8 and much improved with Luai & May, they were deadset robbed against Sharks and albeit with so much referee & touch judge assistance nearly beat Dolphins.

next two games will be where we see how good this team is and think we should hold our own
For the record, that's Warriors and then Bulldogs. Both big games but both teams very beatable.
