Depending on how long the coach can keep his son in the team, I think your old team are going to win the spoon. But yeah, if we can get those 4 on the field together for a significant part of the season, I think with Katoa in the halves and Herbie in the backs, we will be VERY hard to beat.
Everything at the Dragons seemed jobs for the boys.

Flanno is no different. He won a comp while the sharks were cheating, so whilst people see him as a good coach, I think it’s a bit tainted for mine.

They are a basketcase off the field, and that always finds its way onto the field. I thought they would finish last at the start of the year, my mind hasn’t been changed.

Too bad for them. Wolff doesn't have any sons who (try to) play rugby league, does he? I think it's not just Flanagan but as a general rule, fathers shouldn't coach their sons in a professional team unless that son is an out and out superstar.

Something else is becoming apparent to me which is related to St George and the Broncos. Ben Hunt is a decent player. Decent halfback, good hooker, ok as a 5/8 but are the rumors true he is bad news for teams due to his difficult personality? Now he's out for at least a few weeks, it wouldn't surprise me if the Broncos are trying to move him on before the end of the season.

Have you seen Kyle Flanagan play? This guy is proof a father shouldn't coach his son unless there are exceptional circumstances. Like Cleary who is obviously a very good player under any coach. Some might say Billy Walters went ok at the Broncos. He did. He's an ok player. A utility who can play hooker. I think with a better, specialist hooker, Broncos would have been much better.

Fitzgibbon has a a young son who I think plays in the U19s is a highly regarded. Not sure which club but Fitzgibbon ruled out trying to sign him. Saying it would only put pressure on him and his son.

Liverbird with Phins up Liverbird with Phins up would know better than me but from what I have seen of them, Jack de Belin continues to be very good and from the game I saw against the Tigers last week. Some of their teenage or 20 year-old forwards and halfback look very serious. Kyle Flanagan on the other hand is so bad it's funny.

Good for Fittlers boy. If he is really very good and not just expected to be good because of his old man, I'd suggest Fittler not coach him if Fittler was still a couch.

On the topic of the Tigers, our loss to them wasn't a bad loss. In fact, considering the players we had out and the shocker Hammer had, we did well to be that close to them for so long. It's a credit to Woolf. He's copped a bit of flak and I certainly don't agree with everything he has done but all in all, I think he's doing a good job under difficult circumstances.

I don't know him personally. However, when your wife gets on to social media to defend you, i'm not sure thats an attribute I would think a good leader would have. When I think of a good leader, I think of someone that can sort those things themselves, and sometimes not get into situations where he has to.

He drops the ball off the kickoff in a grand final. We all make mistakes. However, its how a player comes back form that, that shows what type of character he is. For mine, he has been a violet crumble mentally ever since.

I've flip flopped on him a couple of times. However, answering your question, I think my mind is made up on him.

The Couchmans will be good. Young players just need a little more battle on the field to get harder.

Lyhkan King-Togia looks to be a good player. However, who should he have replaced? I think Kyle is getting a free ride. His dad defended him recently saying he has played well. He is a reserve grade player at best. And when your comparing him to lachlan and this young kid Lyhkan, Kyle is going to look okay. The fact of the matter is, on paper, theyll be lucky to avoid the spoon.

Egan is a good young forward and so is LP Tonga. Ones to watch

The other thing is, the illawarra is a massive nursery. The Dragons dont make good use of it, and the cream are poached while the dragons are asleep at the wheel. Jobs for the boys is prefered to actual talent.

a cautionary tale. I watched the game tonight as well. JDB and their young players kept them in the game. Cook has played a year too long and again, Kyle Flanagan🤣.

Glad we missed out on signing him. Assuming the rumours are true we were really tying to get him.
