But Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins will soon be on the lookout for a new recruitment chief with Peter O’Sullivan set to hit the exits at Redcliffe.
O’Sullivan - the man who once signed NRL champions Greg Inglis and Latrell Mitchell as teenagers - is off-contract at season’s end and Sport Confidential can reveal the veteran recruitment boss will not be at the Dolphins in 2025.
O’Sullivan’s preference was to remain at Redcliffe, but the Dragons and Knights have tabled more lucrative offers and are in the box seat to snare the Dolphins’ recruitment manager.
Bennett and O’Sullivan were the dynamic duo who joined forces to build the Dolphins’ maiden roster, luring the likes of Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Jesse and Kenny Bromwich and Felise Kaufusi to make the NRL’s 17th team competitive from day one.
O’Sullivan was also a pivotal figure in the signing of playmaking sensation Isaiya Katoa, who was poached from Penrith’s nursery to join the Dolphi
