Not a bad idea but it's not as if our wingers have been letting us down. And Bostock will be back shortly. I can only see dropping Averillo or Kodi. Or dropping Hammer......

Going well? 0 T, 0 LB, 0 TA, 0 LBA, 72 Avg RM, 4 OL, 9 P/RI given away. A 91% TR is good, but they need a lot more from their lock forward. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as he adjusts to the NRL. But, the Dolphins are much more effective with Donga or Plath wearing the #13.

I agree and assume he is talk about knowles.

As you highlight the stats, i tend to use the eye test. With Plath and Donga, hr is 3rd based on what I have seen. Hr is nonexistent in attack, defensively solid with errors and penalties in him (not up to the speed of the Aust game).

And with 2 lock/Utilities why would you recruit a 3rd. If Woolf wanted him, I question his ability to be effective in the cap mgt game.

Knowles early on is no where near the other two, and id hazard a guess, if you tried to offload him, youd get no NRL takers. I have similar fears for Williams. To me a dumb move.

If anyone is telling you he is going well, they need to start watching netball. Because thr have no eye for NRL.

Dolph. One last comment on this. I mention how guys like matt troll opposition forums. He reminds me of a troll on the Dragons forum, which i no longer post on. His name was mattw5. Funnily enough a bulldogs fan posting on the dragons forum.

Infact, very similar if you ask me.

1. Started much the same.

2. Posting much the same stuff.

3. People noticed this guys waa trolling.

4. End result, im sure you know.

I see. I get where you are coming from. He's obviously a fanatical Bulldogs fan. The whole fitness, fitness, fitness thing whever we lose is so tiresome. But he also has some good insights. That's all I'm saying.

I haven't seen him talking about the Bulldogs in a while but I don't follow all his posts so really don't know.

And he was right about Kurt Donoghue. I hardly gave him a chance of being in the best 17 in the pre season last year. Matt insisted he would be in the 17 and would do well.

he got lucky had he not adapted playing outta postion would he been even in our sides including cup , the fact he got lucky and had play outta postion then goes and plays test level for fiji at halfs ( and think about this if he not been in nrl playing in other postions who would fiiji got as half , like guy who was a ex utility said on radio few weeks ago its hardest job in game n you can easily fall of radar quick even matt couldn't picked he was going be in forwards at one stage he wa picking him to be next inline for fullback

The only web forum I post on is this one and haven't been near another web forum for at least 15 years. The only Bulldogs page I post on Canterbury Bulldogs Supporters on Facebook. The only other Facebook page I post on is Dolphins4020. I keep repeating myself I follow Redcliffe Dolphins in Queensland Cup and have been for 28 years and as an extension want the Dolphins NRL to do well because of the Redcliffe connection and because the Greater Brisbane Region should have more than 1 side. If NSW has 10 sides Queensland should have 5.

This is not a Bulldogs forum.

Max Plath said it on a podcast in late 2024 about Kurt Donoghoe it wasn't rocket science. The podcast doesn't have a wide audience so not many pick up on it.

yeah because at the time kurt was living at same place even max would not of predicted he would be used in forwards been a test level half i dont think even utility was even a option till we got injurys

G Gary I'm a massive fan of Averillo at 6 and that's his best position moving forward. He got messed around by Barrett, Gould and Ciraldo after that only time he had a bit of certainty was when Potter tried him at fullback ahead of Dufty where he went well but moved him sideways for Perham & eventually out of the club. Jake's two best games for Dolphins been at 5/8 vs Broncos 2024 and Cowboys 2025.

All news on the Dolphins front been very quiet bar Fuller knocking back the Dragons offer. But interesting as Naufahu didn't play Cup or NRLQ last night and he hasn't played since his three try performance in Cup prior to the Easter break.

I would rather Fuller and Naufahu in the team over Cobbo and one of Nikorima/Averillo. I'm not convinced Cobbo is fully invested into the Dolphins until he re-signs and even there he's got history of losing interest very quickly and I think this is the year one too many for Nikorima he got spotted too easily in defence against Manly and teams with good right edges will freely target Nikorima, Talagi, etc.

The only player who really unlocks Katoa and takes pressure off him is Donoghoe when he's at 6 or 13.

John Fineanganofo cut Norths to shreads last night he surely has to be an option for Penrith game.

Penrith is very beatable they do have holes in their defensive system but discipline and enthusiasm against them needs to be on point for every minute.
 
i dont see him changing to much in current side ( as for signing the will come when they ready ) and yes we need a 9 mozer i hoper we look at hes even quicker than jmk

Woolf seems really reluctant to use Kodi at #9. Seems a bit strange to me. Averillo 5/8 and Kodi hooker is a way better option than Plath hooker.

Now Donoghue is back it probably doesn't matter. Kodi needs to concentrate on his game at 5/8.

There is a big defensive workload wearing the #9. They often top the tackle counts. That is not one of KNik's strengths. He is fine where he is. If the forwards ever lay a platform or stop giving away silly P/RI, then you'll see both Kodi and Katoa thrive. Until then, it'll be more of the same.

That's true. But if we had Plath on at lock and Gilbert prop, they'd be running around tackling everything that moves.
