No way will Kurt be just injury cover after the season he just had. If he isn't in the best 17 at the Dolphins, he will be in the best 17 at another club.
Donga will be one of the first picked in the 17 in fact he'll retain the no.13. Coaches always have their favourites and Donga is one Woolf's favourites.

Albert Hopoate set to join the Dolphins in 2026.
Just what they need another outside back. Dolphins need more prop depth it's good if Flegler, Saifiti, Molo and Kaufusi are all fit at the same time it's very thin after that.

He won't be coming to be anyone's backup. He's the England captain and still highly rated. Kodi is going to retire or go to ESL for a final payday. If his form holds he might be able to get a deal with Perth.
George Williams has been very ordinary in Super League this year for Warrington one of the worst performed players this year and he's not getting any better. I so hope this signing is just a rumour not what the Dolphins need in 2027. By that stage invest in Jake Averillo, Karl Oloapu or move Kurt Donoghoe from lock as the no.6 options much younger options and more compatible for Izzy Katoa. Or go all chips in for Matt Burton another who would be lethal alongside Katoa as the strengths of Burton and Katoa compliment each other.

Drinkwater is their equal best player with Dearden as well.
Tedesco and Walsh are so far and away the two best fullbacks in the NRL right now. Drinkwater is probably in the next line of fullbacks I rate him so highly and he's more valuable to the Cowboys attack than anyone else including Deardon the only issue with Drinkwater is will shy away from having a dig in defence does a Peachey looks for the fake intercept. Both Edwards and Turbo are both cooked these days, shame about Turbo as I loved watching him in full flight except when he destroyed Bulldogs or Dolphins whereas Edwards was a beneficiary of a very good system.

And Ponga when he is fit is the best of the lot. Agree about Edwards and Turbo.

its a done deal , if kodis goes hes not really going improve with jake or kurt or karl there you no i am right , and yes izzy has a long way to go in delopment

lol if kurt is his fav which i know hes not , then kurt would know he just doesn just get the spot , there be guys coming in from injury guy coming in from overseas , just because he was starting last season dont mean he will be this season

just like you doubting all the other players that come into our side because they been awful at other clubs , long as albert morgie george are on same page as , woolf n his management thats all that matters

we carry on from where we left of with full strength side , we be unstoppable , great over your man crush n realize more than 1 player in the team like trai he wont go anywhere if not chosen in the 17,( theres no way senior higher paid players aint getting there spots unless injured)

your gibberish b/s is just that b/s your comments are just insane , n get more funnier every post you put up on here

Fact is you're not right you haven't watched a single game of Super League this year. The signing of George Williams defies all logic and I hope against hope it's a rumour. Dolphins are regenerating quite nicely except for excess prop depth and don't need someone who's 32 in 2027 and struggling in Super League when there's a good crop of players emerging.

You're the only one gun ho on this one.

You laughed at me when I said Donoghoe would make the top 17 ahead of Bromwich long before round 1 this year and I was correct on that. Plath got his chance in 2024 when Gilbert was ruled out and Stone missed a game early in the season. Donoghoe was always going to be in the 17 this year and when he got his shot at 13 he nailed it now up to others to take it off him.

You're a comedian so I laugh.

I thought it was a done deal. George Williams was a gun HALFBACK how many years ago now but no way he is displacing Katoa.

Trai Fuller would be my choice at fullback Dolphins best on ground in 3 of the 4 games he played in.

Apologies Red Red I re-read what I wrote and worded it a couple things wrong. I do believe it's a done deal and I hope it's just a rumour as opposed to fact it's a deal. I just don't think it's a smart move by the Dolphins who are regenerating their squad quite nicely so to go with George Williams just defies what they're currently building. I'm right in that he's been a flop in Super League this year and Warrington fans want him gone sooner than later. It's not like Morgan Knowles who's going well in Super League and made the Dream Team of the Year Saints fans are shattered to lose him but happy it's to a Kristian Woolf team.

I didn't like the way Schneider played on the weekend or against Bulldogs a few weeks ago I can only see him lasting a season. I've got massive wraps on John Fineanganofo he's an Isaac Luke clone who plays 6, 9 or 13 just needs a full pre-season he's now going to get being part of the full-time squad.

I would bring Cody Hunter back as a backup halfback before signing George Williams and with the Falcons quite odd deal with Broncos none of their players will be offset by the train & trial money.

2 b trai n selwyn n kurt will be injury cover like brad , yeah if we have injurys of the very first preseason we see them more other wise they be in cup sides
3 oh wait your bagged every player we got from other clubs this season, that they aint up to nrl standred but wait with those guys they were only just outta the top 8

4 cody hunter won't be here he has no desire to be a a 6 and don't see him at 7 unless izzy john is another that be more suited at 7

5 if woolf wants them here n they on same page don't matter who they are long as they on same page as woolf n his mangement that all that matters

I get the impression you and Matt really dislike each other.

Cobbo won't be injury cover unless Woolf can't get him in shape. If he's loses a couple of kgs he's set to be one of the best wingers in the competition.

Not sure about Kurt D. He became a gun player this year. He might well have surpassed Plath and Gilbert. Though different kind of player. This seems silly in a way but of the 3, I think Gilbert should be the one shown the door. Big call I know. Good player but would more suit a team which lacks good props because Gilbert is like a smaller prop in the way he plays. Kurt and Plath have more of a passing game, less effective in the early part of games or early part of both halves.

Plath hands are terrible , he's in the team for his engine . Donaghue will be utility with a full strength pack.

Gary: Plath and Donoghoe are wonderful assets to the Dolphins team and both got their chances when someone was out injured and have secured their top 17 spots and both will be there whenever fit & available. Both provide different skill sets and so much flexibility within a squad.

Chris: I totally agree with you on Cobbo and Gilbert. A lot of pressure on Gilbert next year he's barely played since 2023 and a lot has changed in that time such as Plath's 2024 season, Donoghoe's 2025 season and Dolphins had their best season in 2025. The lock position is forever evolving as well and Donoghoe is adapting so well with Katoa and this is firmly Katoa's team. Plath is so flexible in that he covers lock, edge and dummy half and Donga covers lock, 5/8 and the entire backline so crucial in the HIA era now. Donga went to lock and took his game to another level I didn't think he would evolve into a starting player until next year it's happened 12 months quicker.
