He should not be allowed to talk about this. Dodgy as fuck.

Irrespective of whether he is right or wrong. You could be sacked in other professions for conflict of interests. In fact, in financial markets, this type of stuff is called insider trading.

In that case, won't happen until 2028. Cleary is paid almost as much as an entire Super League team.

Thats what the papers told us.

And Cleary sacked his boss?
Gould enticed Cleary from the Warriors to Penrith and sacked him after 2015.

Gould opposed to Penrith bringing Cleary back when he was at Wests Tigers after 2018.

Gould left Penrith early in 2019 the framework for their uncharted success had been set.

After Gould sacked him, then in became apparent the club bosses overruled Gould and wanted him back, Cleary returned and didn't make any secret of the fact Gould was not in charge of the team or anything else. He was just hanging around the for sake of a paycheck.

But anyway, doesn't whatever Phil Gould is doing or saying belong in the Bulldogs thread?

You are correct there but Liverbird with Phins up Liverbird with Phins up tried to say Gould recruited Cleary back for the 2019 season that wasn't the case. Cleary put on his conditions for return no Gould involvement or controlling. Penrith had decided Gould's time was up and he left them with an incredible platform for the success they enjoyed. Imagine Gould with access to Norths, Redcliffe, Wide Bay, Central Queensland and Sunshine Coast the Dolphins would be on another planet.

The dolphins have only had access to these areas for 3 years. Before that anyone could go there and did Melbourne, manly , broncos , they have all raped these areas. So don’t put Gould on this pedestal of being a recruitment guru , he’s had plenty of time to go through this area.

I said in an earlier posts the Dolphins should be reporting this to the NRL.

Rumours circled around in Sydney yesterday that Penrith and Manly wanted Katoa and Bulldogs showing some interest.

Katoa is the face and marquee player of the Dolphins. He's one player I feel comfortable giving a 10 year deal too the only others I give 10 year deals too are non players like Bellamy and Gould.
If there was a shred of evidence it was true, not only should the Dolphins report it to the governing body but the Dolphins would do that.

Dolphins Top 30:

Off Contract end of 2025:

1 Felise Kaufusi
2 Harrison Graham
3 Josh Kerr
4 Kenny Bromwich
5 Mark Nicholls
6 Mason Teague
7 Sean O'Sullivan

2026 Top 30 Additions/Signings:
1 Elijah Rasmussen
2 Morgan Knowles
3 Sebastian Sua
(all signed end of 2027)

Off Contract 20925 Development:
1 Aublix Tawha
2 Lewis Symonds
3 Ryan Jackson
4 Tevita Naufahu

Source for all the above is the NRL Website.

2025 Transition Players:
1 Zac Garton
2 LJ Nonu
3 Brian Pouniu
4 Carter Ford
5 John Finenganofo
6 Charlie Dickson
(Dated 22/11/2024 source Dolphins website)

Teenagers Elijah McKay and Kilarney Lavender played in the first trial game both turning 18 this year not sure what deals they would be on. We can probably assume they've been added to the Transition list.

We don't know which players are getting promoted to Development as Dolphins yet to confirm whereas other clubs have - not a bad idea from Dolphins. Anyone who thinks they know who are promoted actually doesn't know :)

2025 Train & Trial Players:
1 Josh Allen
2 Will Partridge
3 Ethan Quai-Ward
4 Ben Stevanovic
5 Peter Hola
6 Larson Dale-Doyle
7 Cooper Marshall
8 Tane Kiriona

Jordan Lipp who featured in two trials wasn't on an extended train & trial neither was Josh James who played in the Cowboys trial.

Of the above players on train & trial the most likely is Allen.

Dolphins have 30 players in the Top 30 currently - 7 off contract.

They have 3 new additions into the Top 30 for next year.

They have 26 players signed for next year in the Top 30.

You generally keep one spot free for a signing or promotion you need to make.

Who gets the final 3 spots? Players from within or players from outside?

Aside from Nicholls and Bromwich who are 100% done which of the other 7 players get retained or moved on?

I thought Ryan Jackson might get a call up sooner rather than later.

Harrison Graham or Teague (not both) might hang around for another year if they don't get any offers elsewhere.

Agree. He needs to see out his last season in Cup.
I reckon once Molo gets match fitness, when Flegler returns (it's when whether mid season or next year) or if Allen can keep going strong at Redcliffe a transition will happen.

Kerr is so needed off the bench.
