I'm a lot more in the wait and see camp with Williams than most Phins fans being low on him - Kodi has always been hot and cold and while he's been good this year Williams in theory has more upside I think IF he can get fully healthy and back to his best. It's not like he's some random super league scrub. At this point I trust the coach knows what he's doing. I sort of lean towards
Hope he delivers
The team absolutely has to re sign Herbie, Bostock and Cobbo (in that order) and presumably the three of them and Naufahu or Poiniu make up the back line medium term
We want to keep hammer too but i'd be reluctant to pay more than 1m or so a season for him even with the new cap as a FB like another commenter said he is actually a better centre than he is a fullback but we already have two marquee centres
We do have to upgrade Bostock and Herbie though having the best centre pairing in the comp with both fully fit is so huge for this team
I also agree with the guy who said if we have to we can lose Flegler and Lemuelu if we have to lose any forwards. Flegler is good, but not notably better than the rest of our pack but likely will cost more money. Losing Stone hurts, he's always been underrated, but the team can work around losing one or two forwards a year. Have to pay Finefuiaki obviously and ideally if we can keep Flegler and Lemuelu too that'd be great but if not it's not the end of the world
Future is bright especially if Williams does get back to his best. Phins Up!
At the end of the day we want to retain everyone but if we have to pick and choose, Herbie, Bostock, Cobbo, Hammer, Finefuiaki and obviously a long term extension for Katoa and keep as many of our current middles as we can and we're happy and can fill in the slots with young up and comers as needed
