Recruitment and Retention for 2027

Maybe but you know what they say about smoke, and there is a lot of it.

I don't know if he'll go to the Dragons but I can't see him staying with us. The moment Williams was signed, I think Kodi was out the door despite the big words by Woolf about keeping both.
It's been confirmed now.

that not to bad money for 3 years with cap going up not to worried especailly when there be other guys we need upgrade too

You don't have any understanding of the salary cap. But, you can't help that. Whatever pctg the cap increases, the players on current contracts increase their salary by that exact same pctg. So, your theory is flawed.

Big call by Woolf. I hope it goes well for him. If it falls flat, I think that's the end of his NRL coaching career.
Yep, it could be a master-stroke. But, you are correct. If it all fucks up, it could cost him his job. Bennett and O'Sullivan built this franchise and he is dismantling it before they even make one playoff appearance. I hope he knows what he is doing. I have a feeling that he is not near as intelligent as he thinks he is. Time will tell.

you need do better than that, champ not hard to find out what nrl cap breakdowns are not talking of what they on but more what each tier group of players would be on

No. He's absolutely right. Players get paid as a % of the cap, not a fixed amount. Otherwise no player would sign for longer than the current cap is in place.

for sure but more talking about as you say the percentage there are news articles that have broken down the percentages of how many players are paid in each percentage bracket hence my comment of georges contract , we lost few big percentage bracket players in my eyes so could afford get higher end precentage

this is what the percentage of each position salary cap wise , this is 2025 model wouldnt think 2026 onwards would be to far diffrent

The only player that person was adamant was gone has done two extensions since in Kurt Donoghoe.

Once again it's been proven never believe a word that a club, coach or player says.

Unfortunately Dolphins lowballed Nikorima and it's very disappointing.

dont think has anything to do what players say ( it comes down what our cap can handle )

very much doubt he was low balled going to dragons knowing they gave metcalf a huge deal , way the club is going with cap hes been roud long enough , to realise sometime players going get squeezed out for others we keep him remove williams out of picture we still be losing people

He already recruited Knowles, which I didn't agree with. Not because of anything wrong with Knowles but because as if Donga, Plath, Stone, Gilbert, Kaufusi wasn't enough. Now this. But far from writing it off. Williams was a very good halfback a few years ago.

so how long fuis n stone sticking round for ? probbaly better then getting them than getting when they go thats what you factor in who we have then or whose i market when go

Ratchet Clauses.

How Ratchet Clauses Work
    • Cap Scaling: If the total salary cap rises during a multi-year agreement, the player's annual payout adjusts upward by a corresponding percentage or formula.
    • Mandate Origin: Widespread use expanded significantly following the COVID-19 pandemic to help manage uncertainty in future club financial cycles and collective bargaining agreements.
    • Club Differences: While common across the league, certain clubs like the Sydney Roosters have historically tried to avoid or limit implementing them as a matter of internal management policy

Absolutely no point to the Knowles or Williams signings. Nothing to do with their quality. There is no point to them, Knowles was surplus to requirements and didnt improve the squad. WIlliams is the same, surplus to requirements and not improving the squad.

Any successful outfit recruits based on a lack in a certain position (replacing someone leaving (Kodi didnt want to go) or plain shortage), or improving a position in the squad. These two recruits did none of that. Its fucking shit cap management and shit recruitment.
