Yes you can keep assurance on the bench
Kurt is a lock but he can play other positions if asked to. They used to carry a utility and 3 forwards on the bench. Now they have cover for halves and outside backs in case of an injury and 4 forwards. As a general rule. I know there are exceptions.Lol yet kurt plays it lol and with injurys to halfs n hookers alot we need him
I rather Schneider to Williams because he’s cheaper, willing to play the system game and willing to be a foil for Katoa, Nikorima and Donoghoe as so much of what Dolphins do is built around them 3 and JMK. Williams will want to take control and be the look at me in the team.Kurt is a lock but he can play other positions if asked to. They used to carry a utility and 3 forwards on the bench. I haven't seen Williams play in a while but he used to be 100x times better than Schneider is now. Schneider is a standard back up halfback. Teams can't afford to carry a good halfback as back up.I rather Schneider to Williams because he’s cheaper, willing to play the system game and willing to be a foil for Katoa, Nikorima and Donoghoe as so much of what Dolphins do is built around them 3 and JMK. I don’t think Woolf or the admins predicted that Nikorima would get better with age like what Cody Walker has done.
Nikorima is one that I’ve always doubted until now but now he’s so settled into the 5/8 role he’s in the best form of his life. His days of being a utility or fix it are so far behind him now he’s a specialist 5/8.
Roosters are actively pursuing Farnworth don’t listen to the denials they’re going to throw Tedesco money at him plus a beach side life style. Dolphins need to compete to keep him. Politis wants a big fish after some failures with some of his recent big signings.
Bostock and Naufahu are must keeps and Dolphins need to be careful one club doesn’t come at them two with a package deal that includes a nice pay day for Indie in the NRLW.
Cobbo ceiling going through the roof and Hammer is also off contract.
Find a way out of the Williams deal to keep Nikorima for next year and the others for the very long term.
Williams last good year was 2020 he's struggled since returning to England and Warrington been going better without him this year. Katoa and Nikorima are better first choice options than Williams, Schneider is a better backup option like you said he's a perfect backup player and Dolphins have two very talented youngesters in their pathways in Toby Batten (19) and Karl Oloapu (21).I haven't seen Williams play in a while but he used to be 100x times better than Schneider is now. Katoa and Nikorima are certainly better. What we have been banging on about since Williams signing was announced. But I doubt Schneider is. That isn't meant to be criticism of Schneider. He's a good, QLD Cup standard halfback and we are wrong to expect more from a back up.Williams last good year was 2020 he's struggled since returning to England and Warrington been going better without him this year. Having a 600-800k backup will cost the Dolphins other players it's about getting the balance right. This is why it's a must to get out of this Williams deal ASAP.Katoa and Nikorima are certainly better. What we have been banging on about since Williams signing was announced. Agreed. Schneider is a great back up.Katoa and Nikorima are certainly better. What we have been banging on about since Williams signing was announced. But I doubt Schneider is. Absolutely nailed it right here.Agreed. Schneider is a great back up.
A great example of what we are talking about is Junior Tupou. He is moving back to the West Tigers. We signed him for $500k. Made a mistake and shipped him to the Roosters, the Roosters now shipping him back to the tigers. Guess who is still paying part of his salary under their cap? THE DOLPHINS.
These are the mistakes you need to avoid. Williams/Schneider/Kodi are a salary cap mistake waiting to happen.
Gilbert/Knowles/Plath/Donoghue is a Salary cap mistake.
I get it, most of those are playing well. However, they are all Salary cap mistakes.
Im not saying we are not going to make any, however the successful club make as few as possible. Its unrealistic to make none, but we need to reduce them.
Penrith letting Leota talk is avoiding a Cap mistake. The probably have a young prop they can pay nothing, rather then resigning a prop on big dollars and hamstringing themselves for 2 more years. Which snowballs meaning you cant keep someone younger whose useful life is longer.
Yep. That's what we are worried about. It might end up being Herbie.Having a 600-800k backup will cost the Dolphins other players it's about getting the balance right. This is why it's a must to get out of this Williams deal ASAP.
Herbie said, "He wants to stay." i.e. He might not.lol herbie would be long gone to chocks if he was remotely intrested in going he said couple weeks ago hes not wanting go anywhere else
cap increases this year and with the record broadcasting deal it will only go up again ( also theres no way we going let our star player go unless we were getting someone of equal value
