He's been alright. A bit mistake prone and finds himself out of position at times, but I'm a big fan of his contributions. But, if Cobbo is switched on, he'll be impossible to keep out of the lineup as we all know what he is capable of.
No room for Hammer? You can't be serious. Round 1, 2026 will most likely look like this if the impossible happens and they are at full strength.
1 Hammer
2 Cobbo
3 Averillo
4 Herbie
5 Bostock
6 KNik
7 Katoa.
4 points out with 3 games remaining is the worst possible scenario this weekend could have produced. Chances are very slim of a maiden post season, but not impossible. But, the Broncos or the Roosters would have to fall over and the Dolphins would have to win 2 of 3 (at least).
The Dolphins...
It's crazy blowing a 14 point lead like that. They were in total control until they weren't. Just too many guys missing. The forwards worked their asses off, but Haas ran rings around them. The quality of key personnel missing is just too great for the comp's newest team. The top 8 is set in...
The enormity of tonight's game cannot be overstated for both clubs. A Dolphin loss will probably see the end of a season dominated by lopsided victories and tremendous potential, but marred by long term injuries. Can they bounce back from last week's massacre? Will Fuller add an extra element of...
It depends on how tomorrow night goes. A loss will certainly spell the end, but a victory gives us a hell of a chance. I'm confident (somewhat) about this game. I don't rate the Broncos at all and a loss for them will probably see them continue their free fall out of playoff contention. But...
Even at full strength, the Broncos aren't a top 4 side. If they were, they'd be snuggled securely in there along with Melbourne and Canberra. Instead, they are battling an injury hit third year team just to stay alive.
There is a lot of media hype surrounding the Broncos which only adds...
Su'a has played four tier 3 games this year. He is long odds in jumping two levels by March. Knowles, like all British imports, is the great uncertainty. He might find the NRL too fast for him. He definitely is not guaranteed a regular spot next year.
That is a very strong side with the likes of Fuller, Knowles, Averillo, Feagai, Stone, Schneider and Kaufusi (possibly) as depth. Arguably, the best roster in the comp. Now, if they only can get them on the field all at the same time.
Handily? Are you sure? A 54 point loss at home against a team lower in the standings in a vital match= the Dolphins have hit the wall. In fact, they have smashed head on into it.
I'm not counting them out vs the Bronx as both teams are eerily similar. Both are struggling. Both are...
Frankie Molo suspended for one match. Ray Stone is long odds to play vs the Broncos due to two bung shoulders. That would make nine regulars unavailable.
A huge dose of reality tonight. I thought this might happen considering their less than convincing performance last week. They are playing like a third year team missing a host of key players. A playoff spot is looking less likely now.
Plenty of incentive for the boys tonight as a victory will put eight fingers and one thumb on a maiden playoff berth. They will also climb at least one place in the standings at the expense of the floundering Broncos. Standing in the way will be a desperate Rooster side who will be extremely...
Schneider is a backup half at best and will never play a regular role in any club (just like SOS). If KNik leaves (doubtful), they certainly won't be scrambling to sign Schneider to an extension to serve as his replacement. That would be moronic.
The Dolphins maintain 8th spot with their last gasp win over NZ. But, as usual, it came at a monumental cost. Losing Herbie could be the final straw for this very brave squad. The opportunities he creates out of absolutely nothing is second to none. He is impossible to replace.
I think...
Any word on Issako? He struggled with that groin for most of the game. Herbie is yet another massive loss. These hits keep coming, but the Dolphins still manage to keep their head above water. If they ever have a clean injury/suspension slate in the future, they might be almost unbeatable.
