    2025 Squad

Niko is a bit of a problem in the best 17 if Plath is on the bench. But I still think he'll be on the bench cause Plath can't play in the backs. Niko is the ultimate utility. Doubt. Donoghue makes it.

Val Holmes? He'll be first picked for the Dragons. Similar to Plath for us.

Gun = very good player. Very good player = gets picked in the best 17. We aren't talking about Origin here. In rep games, some guns miss out. Won't surprise me at all if Plath gets an Origin call up. Would be an excellent utility coming on at hooker. That might happen, might not. As far as...
  4. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Because Plath is a gun and is a certainty to be in the 17 unless injured or on rep duties.
  5. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

I'm really surprised @mr_c is even suggesting Plath won't be in the 17. The only thing that will keep him out is injury ................ or a rep call-up.
  6. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Disagree. It's a game of 17 per team these days. Blokes starting on the bench routinely play more minutes that blokes in the starting 13. Doesn't matter if Plath starts on the bench or in the run on team, he'll play a lot of minutes.

    300 games

Plus better training and better treatment for injuries. Better prevention of injuries. Cleaner game.
  8. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Only a question of whether Plath starts on the bench or not. I think he starts on the bench, comes on for JMK, goes to lock when JMK comes back on.
  9. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

6 forwards and 3 on the bench: Plath Gilbert JMK Flegler (fingers crossed) Saifiti Finefeuiaki Stone Kaufusi Nicholls Keeley/Lemuelu There will barely be a single round where at least one forward isn't out injured. Flegler will miss at least the first half of the season right off the bat.
  10. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

I think he'll be a permanent fixture in the 17 barring injury.

Keeley was also MoM in the reserve grade GF, wasn't he? Like in the playoff between the QLD Cup and NSW Cup teams.
  12. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Of those of course I rate Fuller but he's not young anymore. This injury might be really bad for him. Of course it's bad but worse than it would be if he was 20. Also Keeley but don't really rate the rest of them.

DOLPHINS Ready for take off in 2025 LJ Nonu (Ipswich SHS) A centre who can cover wing or fullback, Nonu was originally signed on speculation, but has gone from strength to strength playing for Redcliffe. He zoomed past 2022 Australian schoolboy Michael Roberts in the pecking order and will be...

    2024 end of season tests

Tom Turbo is a very good centre and fullback. Hammer is a very handy centre as well. But I think you are right. I think up to now Manu was considered the best centre.

    2024 end of season tests

Milf is now officially a former Dolphins player. I haven't been watching except NZ vs Aus but I read England have been very good. If last time NZ won and this time England win...... I guess we can say international RL is back on.
  16. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Jonah Pezet is the only one worth pursuing but I think he considers himself a halfback.

    3. HAMISO TABUAI-FIDOW — 6 Didn’t see much of the ball in the first half but defended well when the Kiwis swung the ball to the right side of the field. Combined with Coates to deny a Jamayne Isaako try but was unusually quiet overall, recording only 51 running metres. 2. JAMAYNE ISAAKO — 7...

    2024 end of season tests

I was watching the game and at first wondered who Isa-ako was. They way they were pronouncing his name. If you think about it, that way seems to match the spelling much better. If it was spelled the way we pronounce it, it would be Issako. He played well. Probably a bit better than Hammer.

    Recruitment and retention

With JMK and Plath filling in so well for him last year, I don't think hooker is a position the club would be placing a priority on. But who knows what Wolff is planning. We will soon see.

    Promising Juniors

I guess he's not really a junior anymore but anyway Every club’s 2024 breakout star DOLPHINS — Max Plath Trai Fuller emerged as a genuine livewire this season, and as such earnt himself a contract extension until the end of the 2026 season. Despite suffering an ACL injury in reserve grade to...
