  1. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

Hammer is up there. He'd be further up there if he was playing more often in his best position of centre. But I think Herbie shades him. Agree about JMK. He's been so vital for the teams success or lack of so far.
  2. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

Herbie, Gilbert or Flegler are probably best if you are looking at it from a talent perspective. Katoa might be this year.
  3. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

Plath was best last year but I agree. When JMK is fit, team is so much better.
  4. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

He played 80 min a number of times last season but I think coaching staff have identified it as a problem. He and the team are much better when he can take a rest for 10-20 min.
  5. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

I thought Gilbert coming off after about 30min for Plath. Then Plath moving to hooker for the first 15min of the second half with Gilbert coming back on at halftime. But on second thoughts, that won't work. Problem is that typically Gilbert and Plath would come off at around the same time.

    Tom Gilbert

I think lock with Plath giving him and JMK a rest at different stages of the game.
  7. Equaliser

    Tom Gilbert

Did he say which position he's looking at? Could be anywhere in the forwards except hooker.

Last year Oryn was 20 years-old.

Might be even better given how much money Brown wants.
  10. Equaliser

    2025 Squad

A 20 year old forward in first grade is rare.
  11. Equaliser

    Karl Oloapu

Phil Gould pouring cold water on any move away from the Dogs. At least for now. Maybe they are just trying to not pay any of his salary for the next 2 years.

    Head office updates

Public transport is the future. Shouldn't worry about car parking at all. Only bus parking.
  14. Equaliser

    2025 Squad

    I'm thinking Herbie.

    Recruitment and retention

I've seen him play twice. The U19s Origin game and Aus Schoolboys vs PNG U19s. I had heard several people talking about him so I paid attention to him. What can I say? I know for a fact at that age and younger certain players with the right connections and right people talking them up but...
  18. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Drew Hutchinson and Toby Sexton and an 19 year-old who hasn't even played NSW Cup yet? All I can say is the Dolphins will happily take Oloapu.
  19. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Why was he fourth string? He was recruited when he was 18, then sat out the entire year last year and is now 20 or 20 soon.
  20. Equaliser

    Recruitment and retention

Would be a very good signing if his neck is ok and with the Bulldogs paying a significant % of his contract for the next 2 or 3 years. I haven't looked into it but I wonder if he has come home to get on with the next stage of his life because he was given bad news by the doctors.
