Recruitment and retention

Who are you talking about? Still SOS? Is there a reason people aren't allowed to be critical of his game? Personally I'm not. He was never supposed to be a star halfback. Only a fill in for a couple of years.
His loyalty to SOS is absolute.

loyally lol ffs .

you know nothing about me to suggest my loyalty to any player , you can't even remember what i said

but apprently you know better
I remember your love for SOS. As far as I remember, as late as last year you were saying he should be in the team for Kotoa.

So who are you talking about if not SOS?

This is exactly right, in fact, he was only the filler till Katoa was ready. Katoa showed he was ready sooner then expected, hence punting SoS early.

Its just how it happened.

Every new team from now is going to have a good number of reserve graders like SOS in the team first year or two or even 3. Thanks to SOS who in my opinion punched above his weight while he was with us. As a matter of fact, in our first ever game against the Roosters, he was one of the best on the field.

Yes its important for players to know their role. Id suggest to you, before a player signs their role in the squad would be discussed and agreed upon. SoS would have known he would be the starting half until Katoa was ready. SoS would have accepted his demotion because it would have been discussed on his signing.

Bench players, changes of position, and changes to those roles over the contract life time would all be discussed and known prior to those occuring.

None of what happened would be a surprise to anyone at a well run club. Other clubs, Bulldogs a great example, surprise players with some of this, it plays out in the media, and they look like dogshit to be honest. Then they go from first to insignificant.

The first question a player asks is how much are you going to pay me, the second is where are you going to play me and how much game time am I getting. If those answers arent met, the player asks to leave on personal grounds (I miss my family, or my brothers dog died and I suckled on that dog from birth).
