One of my really good mates is a Dolphin & Titan despises the Broncos. I always visit or stay at his place whenever I’m up north.

It takes quite a while to prep articles so I post them where it gets a larger share of the audience.

All the replies pro Josh Kerr
I like Kerr, think he has been good off the bench, but happy to back the coach and his decision.

I think it comes down to a balancing act with the roster as 25 spots are now filled for next year (that's what we officially know) and that doesn't include Kaufusi who will be re-signed unless he decides that's it.

They quietly re-signed James Walsh for another year according to the official NRL website he's in that 25.

Broncos blocked Cobbo coming to us early so now he is going to play out the year in reserve grade. It's almost funny the way they are so paranoid about the Dolphins. They have good reason to be. In the short term, like over the next few years, it looks like we are going to lap the Broncos.

What? Suncorp is owned by the QLD gov. Broncos have no say in anyone using it.

The decision-making process for who can use Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane involves a coordinated system of stakeholders, each with distinct roles:

### 🏛️ 1. **Owner: Stadiums Queensland**
- As the statutory body of the Queensland Government, **Stadiums Queensland owns the venue** and oversees its strategic direction. They ensure the stadium aligns with public interests and government policies. Major structural changes, long-term leases, and high-level event approvals (e.g., Olympic matches) require their authorization .

### 🎪 2. **Operator: ASM Global**
- **ASM Global manages day-to-day operations**, including event bookings, scheduling, and venue logistics. They handle negotiations with event promoters, tenant teams, and sponsors. Their responsibilities include maximizing venue utilization while maintaining operational standards. ASM Global reports to Stadiums Queensland but has significant autonomy in routine decisions .

### ⚽ 3. **Anchor Tenants**
- Four major teams have priority for regular fixtures under long-term agreements:
- **Brisbane Broncos** (NRL)
- **Dolphins** (NRL)
- **Queensland Reds** (Rugby Union)
- **Brisbane Roar** (A-League)
- Their schedules (e.g., NRL seasons, Super Rugby matches) form the stadium’s core calendar. The **Queensland Rugby League** also holds priority for State of Origin games .

### 🏟️ 4. **Event Promoters & Governing Bodies**
- Organizations like FIFA (e.g., 2023 Women’s World Cup 🏆), Rugby World Cup, NRL (Magic Round), and concert promoters (e.g., Live Nation) submit proposals to ASM Global. Approval depends on:
- Date availability (non-conflict with tenant events).
- Compliance with venue capabilities (e.g., rectangular field requirements).
- Economic viability and community impact .

### 🚦 5. **Government & Regulatory Input**
- Local authorities influence transport plans, noise regulations, and safety protocols. For example, **Brisbane City Council** coordinates road closures and public transport during events .
- State government priorities (e.g., 2032 Olympics hosting soccer and rugby sevens) can also shape usage decisions .

### Key Considerations in Decision-Making:
- **Commercial Viability**: High-revenue events (e.g., concerts by Ed Sheeran, Elton John) are prioritized .
- **Community Access**: Non-profits and community groups can book spaces via ASM Global, subject to availability .
- **Flood Mitigation**: Post-2011 floods, events may be rescheduled if flood risks arise .

### Example Workflow:
1. A rugby promoter requests a 2026 match date.
2. ASM Global checks tenant schedules and stadium availability.
3. Stadiums Queensland approves if the event aligns with strategic goals.
4. Local government agencies review traffic/security plans.
5. Final contract is executed by ASM Global.

Broncos have no say in us using Suncorp or not. The only reason they blocked Cobbo coming this year was the handicap the Dolphins. As is, they will have to pay 100% of his salary to sit disgruntled in QLD Cup. Broncos are cutting the nose to spite the face. They are absolutely terrified of us. All the years with no competition in Brisbane hasn't done them any good.

So moving on from "letting us" use Suncorp? FFS, just let it go. You are wrong. Accept the fact.

You're so correct Chris Chris . I believe Broncos playing Cobbo last week nearly cost them the game against Bulldogs as Cobbo wasn't the slightly bit interested and two of the Bulldogs tries were a direct result of Cobbo being half baked.
