World cup

I have a feeling the George Williams haters are going to be a lot quieter in 2027
I'm not a hater. Far from it. I've said over and over, when he played for Canberra he was one of if not the best halfback in the competition. I just have doubts over his ability as a 5/8 at this stage of his career. I hope he proves me wrong.

As much as I want Bostock to crush it it's kind of lucky for us he didn't score another hattrick etc today in terms of his stock is already high but we don't want it going too much higher until he re signs with us ideally. He didn't do anything bad today really despite Australia being awful but also didn't stand out like last game.

While Turbo did stand out with the tries, but was absolutely horrible on the field he is really absolutely not a winger lol he looked so lost out there at times and played about as badly as a winger who scores a hattrick in a game could have played against a tier 2 opponent, he looked lost against NZ too at times.

I don't even know what Australia can do with these slug forwards I guess bring Yeo and Collins back in and I would probably have Murray play max minutes whether thats at second row or in the middle and split prop/lock duties with Yeo, then Martin and Preston have to be the second rowers and take as many minutes as possible away from several of the middles who played today and Cotter should get dropped entirely (and Fifita probably)

Do we pick Dearden or Walker in the 7 next week, it's actually a tough call
Has to be Walker even though he was pretty poor because Dearden is a 5/8.

Late in the game gassed France isn't the best indicator and Williams was fine too

He played well against Tonga in a beaten side imo

We'll see soon enough in the new nrl season how he does at 6 for us

England vs PNG today

England are 68 behind Samoa on for and against and can play finals if Samoa lose to Tonga and they overtake them on for and against (market has Tonga as tiny favourites)

I wonder how many tries Herbie gets today, he's going to be going for it as long as a win by 50+ to make qualification possible is a possibility

Yeah obviously they're relying on that although Tonga are small favs

Samoan women are just giving England a huge beatdown here even though it's only 8-0 so far

English womens game in shambles considering the population of both countries

Tonights game should be a more fun watch as a fan even though it'll be one sided in England's favour but given England have something to play for in for and against we at least have a benchmark to watch for as they run up the score to keep it interesting

Yea i'm watching it. i've been up hours watching the wheelchair games.

Englands Womens game is still basically Amateur and i'd say most of the Samoa team are not born and raised in Samoa. York, Saint Helens and Wigan do have some cash for players but they are still working full time. Take Amy Hardcastle, probably the most high profile womans player in the uk over the last 15 years. She was a care assistant in a hospital and now has been appointed Head Coach of Bradford women whilst still playing for St Helens. Jodie Cunningham works for the RFL in development

(edited for spelling, obviously time to go back to bed after this)
