They are seriously deep in it. The wheels fell off a while back and the chassis has been skidding towards the wall. He has serious job on his hands. Roughly the RFL give clubs a central funding of about 60% of the salary base as opposed to the NRL who give more than the salary base to the clubs. He'll have about $4m aus as his player budget and a fraction of the backroom staff.

they think they'll get 10m a year for about 5%. uk clubs will never vote for anything other than their own individual interests. Doesn't matter if the league dies as long as they live long enough to see it.

plus the reckon they going do more for broadcasting rights which i find very intresting flnally get rid of there current rip of agents for tv rights

Tv rights its a long drawn out historical problem that goes back to the split in 1895. for 130 years upper class has supressed the game.
RL was banned in the uk military until 1994, the officer class said there was no appetite for it. these are the same class of people who went to the universities and ended up in executive positions across the country and media. RL was literally confined to the M62 a line between liverpool and Hull.

As Ru was 'shamateur' until 1995 players who went 'north' to play RL would have their face blacked out on old team photos on the club wall and in some welsh pit villages were literally run out of town. Silly story but a conservative member of parliament was banned from RU clubs in his own constituency as he once did an opening ceremonial kick off at a Wakefield game.

Here we are with RU having had 50 years of high end media support in both visual and print media v RL which has 50 years of being pushed down. The TV companies fight over each other for rights to the world cup and the six nations. Nobody in the UK wants to show the RL Worldcup.

They are less rip off agents and more realising they are bidding against nothing
