The sad state of UK RL

end the day like guy i know who was on board super league club said to me and makes perfect sense its no use promoting and sponsoring a game in uk who are not run full time who are un professional and don't want to get there act together , soccer gets all the money for one reason they fight to get it and promote it well but if super league wants go bust let then , it won't change with that clown n his croonies running it
The rfl is a total shambles let alone super league. league 1 was wound up last year forcing everyone into the championship to stop big gaps in home fixtures. guess what? there are still huge gaps in the fixtures. we have a game on 29th march and next home game is 7th of June. central funding a staggered based on previous seasons league standings so a team at the top can recieve 2x or more above the lowest teams so there is no competition balancing and whats more its an incentive for teams to spend beyond there means and risk going bust to get the extra cash. go bust restart in a new 'plc' or 'ltd' and away you go.

So quick update. Wembley yesterday. 56k (allegedly) turned up. in a 90k+ stadium. the cheapest tickets were like £20 ( easy comparison is that Minimum wage is £12.71)
Its a shit state where you cannot even sell out the lower bowl of the ground. The Challenge cup is supposed to be the jewel in the crown. People from all over used to go for the day out wearing their own teams shirts. It was the 5th worst attended Cup final since ww2. and that includes 3 covid years and the 2018 final where Catalan played. Yes some were still getting their drinks in however the vast majority were already seated it didn't get noticeable busier.

The reason the top half is shut is they only open the side (where i was) as the tv cameras face us and it makes the crown look bigger. The trophy presentation platform is 2 tiers below me to the left.

ofcourse its is stuffed for 3 reasons

they put the challenge cup in one the huggest stadiums because they have long term contract with them ( and i belive in last year but think they stupid enough to continue the contract

2nd thing is more go to magic round that they do challenge cup wtf they keep it with magic round is beyond me

3rd thing is just shows how poorly it is run in uk i can see if aus did take super league over theres going be shitty clubs but same clubs are shitty now so won't change will just see a pro comp go down the sh!tter especailly with nigel in charge

They've held the CC at Wembley for like 100 years, basically since it was built. There is always talk about leaving it because well its really hard to get too and not exactly down the road. However the history and tradition lot win out. There was a good argument in the 90s when they were talking about knocking wembley down and building the new one that it should be out of London that never worked out.

Magic round is actually a sham, yes they sell more tickets however people only watch their own team. They arrive watch their team and leave, very very few actually stay for the full weekend or even a full day.

RFL couldn't run a bath.
