A good chance to get a win while down on troops here. I know Parramatta beat the Cowboys but I don't really rate them. Cowboys are so inconsistent. They had a bad day.

Wayne Bennett suffered yet another injury blow, with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow going down with a hamstring injury. Kodi Nikorima looks to be his obvious replacement in the No.1 but also was battling a calf complaint himself, with Bennett confident he can take the field in Round 7. Max Plath is due to return and will either slot onto the bench or replace Ray Stone at lock. Meanwhile, Connelly Lemuelu is also due to return and is a chance of displacing Kenny Bromwich in the backrow with Felise Kaufusi sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Tom Fleger is also unlikely to return.

Selection is for centre and fullback is going to be interesting.
  1. Move Aitken back to centre for a game and move Averillo to fullback.
  2. Move Bostock to centre and bring in Robert Jennings on the wing. Averillo fullback.
  3. Move Kodi to fullback and bring back SoS.
  4. Move Averillo to fullback and Val centre.
I'm tipping #4. I know he has weight/fitness issues but I think he's fitter than last year and was still able to get a start for a number of games. Did quite well for the first 60min in every game he played before falling off a cliff form wise.

With so many injuries/suspensions to navigate, I'd be looking to name the best 17 available and then looking at who plays where. Plath and (hopefully) Lemuelu are back this week so the back row stocks look pretty strong - I think the best option is moving Aitken to centre and Averillo to fullback to cover HTF

Makes sense but Aitken has been playing so well in the backrow, I think Wayne won't want to move him. There is a theory about not weakening one spot to strengthen another. But of course Wayne might see bringing in Lemuelu for Aitken to move to centre as not weakening that spot. All will be clear by this evening.

Bring in Trai fuller to fullback , don’t have to move any outside backs then.

But he's not in the top 30. Can they pick a player not in the top 30?

pretty certain he can as long as he only plays one ( under circumstances that he only in the team because they run outta options whivh happened in this case last year )

I don't know how it works either. I thought had to be in the top 30 or development contract after round 10.

Anyone know what's going on with Lemuelu? He's supposedly been almost ready to return for 3 weeks now. Mason Teague has also fallen down the order quite a bit. If he can't break into the 17 with all those missing now, he never will.

Sos gives more cover options. If required Aitken could move back to cover centre what can Val do?
