Do you guys think JMK was the difference last night to the previous 2 weeks? Sure we lost our 7 two weeks in a row early but JMK to Katoa with Hammer out the back: We looked faster than even the first 3 weeks I thought. A 9 that can get you on the front foot is a must have.
100000%. He is a gun. He gets our forwards moving and gives Hammer and the backs the opportunity for more ball. Defense last night was pretty bad, we leaked a lot more points than we should have, but our attack especially the 1st half was outstanding.

Bad time with all the injuries, but anyone else think Milf should be turfed for Nikorima moving forward? Niko slotted in nicely last night.

I also read Katoa is pretty keen on playing for the All Blacks, I hope we don't end up developing him for Yawnion. If so, Niko and O'Sullivan could quite well be our 1st choice halves at least in the short-mid term?

If Niko keeps playing like he did last, I'd say Milf will find it difficult to get back in the 17.

Or JMK plays halfback and Stone plays hooker perhaps. Other than that we've got Albert Kelly, hopefully don't need him.
Niko is free to play if he pays a $800 fine. Luckily we have a culture where he'll pay that rather than miss a game.

And even if he was suspended, IMO at present the club has to get used to playing JMK at hooker no matter what. He's so valuable at hooker. Better to change the rest of the team completely and leave JMK at hooker. That's my view anyway.

  1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (just getting better. Even his passing game is good these days)
  2. Jamayne Isaako (that dropped pass in the second half was strange. Like he decided he was going to drop the ball 5min in advance. Sensational first half.)
  3. Euan Aitken (really strong. One of the best)
  4. Brenko Lee (don't we have anyone to replace him with?)
  5. Edrick Lee (not bad for first game back.)
  6. Kodi Nikorima (found his spot, based on that game.)
  7. Isaiya Katoa (his best game by a fair margin so far.)
  8. Mark Nicholls (captains knock.)
  9. Jeremy Marshall-King (outstanding again.)
  10. Herman Ese’ese (surprised me by how good he was.)
  11. Kenny Bromwich (solid. Outshone by his less famed backrow partner.)
  12. Connelly Lemuelu (really good again.)
  13. Tom Gilbert (really good again.)

  14. Jarrod Wallace (was having his best game in a number of years until he was dragged off.)
  15. Poasa Faamausili (was he hooked? With Jesse back this week and then Kafusi next week, probably won't see more NRL games.)
  16. Ray Stone (another good game)
  17. Kurt Donoghoe (getting better by the week.)

Wallace is apparently ruled out for next game so maybe Faamausili will get another chance.

If you're looking for a decent background, the one below is from the official Dolphins site. Google images also has a lot of good ones.

You can get cutouts of players from the official site as well. The player images in the team section, just click on the player profile and right click on the image of the player and click on Save Image As if you're using Firefox. Not sure the process for other browsers.

If you want better text dafont.com has a lot of good ones.

YouTube tutorials are a god send. Especially when it comes to learning how to cutout players from images.

Thanks for the advice. I think the cut-outs look ok as is, don't they? Remember there are limited pics of the players in Dolphins gear. Lots of Tom Gilbert for example but in Cowboys gear. I was looking at your graphics and thinking that I overuse the cut outs.

I reckon it's all good - a bit like Kenny Bromwich - not pretty but gets the job done :)

Thats a good characterisation of Kenny. He's really enjoyed getting away from Melbourne and coming up here. Maybe a little too much.

Definitely, he seems to have thrived being one of our best known players instead of a relative unknown on the streets of Melbourne.
