We need to not only win but put a decent score on this rabble. The one thing they have, speed, is something we can match them on. Surely Kurt D will be back and hopefully JMK isn't far away. Though this is a Thursday game so JMK won't be back just yet. Maybe next week.

Other than Kurt D coming in to play hooker, Plath to the bench and Schneider drops out. If Kurt D is back, no need for Schneider to be on the bench in case of a injury to the halves.

Manly will be fired up for this but we should still prevail.

Team Tips:

Versatile star Kurt Donoghoe is due back from a hamstring injury in Round 5 and will likely take Brad Schneider’s spot on the bench if he is fit. Jeremy Marshall-King and Jack Bostock don’t return from knee injuries until Rounds 7 and 10 respectively. Daniel Saifiti’s return timeline from a shoulder injury remains uncertain.

Donoghoe was badly missed last week he and Plath can be on the field together so effective.

how was he badly missed we played bloody well against red hot broncos team , there wouldnt been much if at all even with jmk there that would changed , more than just two players all the players going great guns as woolf said its good heachache to have

Plath is not a dummy half. It's not Donoghue's best position either but he's a lot better than Plath at it.

for sure thats more my point , we wouldnt be missing much with make shift halfs kurt been there wouldnt changed much if anything

Disagree. Donoghue is a much better dummy half than Plath.

So on the one hand he is a much better dummy half than Plath, as I said, but on the other, with or without him doesn't make much difference.

Yeah I don't get it either.

Also, genuinely I reckon the junkyard dog does lift the team. I remember last year woolfy was giving him the wraps and everyone in the team was loving how he was playing. Doesn't matter the technical effect he has on play I genuinely reckon the team enjoys having him on the field.

Also I get the real feeling we genuinely just have the jitters. Either too little or too much too early or too late, but it's not a thing to do with what players we have on the park all the time. It's not like the sharks who have played together for 4 years who still sometimes fall apart for what seems like no reason, we are always shot with injuries and trying new things and getting a lot out of our players, it just doesn't always work. Hence I don't understand why some people are so hard on woolfy. It's not perfect but it's still better than half the comp at our worst.

Finally we might get stone, fuss, junkyard dog, psychoplath, and the tank on the field all in one game.

Dolphins forward Kurt Donoghoe has been cleared for his first game of the season against the Sea Eagles on Thursday night.
The Dolphins have taken a conservative approach with Donoghoe’s hamstring injury, but he’s now fit to play if called upon after being named in jersey No. 18.

“He’s a good player for us,” coach Kristian Woolf said. “We have missed him the first couple of weeks. We’ve missed a lot of what he brings – his toughness in defence and the speed and intensity he does things at.”

“... He is coming off a long lay-off so we’ll need to be a little bit patient until he is right back to his best, but he’s a great inclusion.”

Donga is a massive inclusion and gives the squad much more flexibility

The Dolphins are heavy favourites tonight and deserve that status despite their indifferent performances. A mainly dry track at Kayo against a winless (and coachless) team conceding 33 points a game= a chance for the Dolphins to score some serious points. It won't be quite as easy as that, but I do expect the boys to win comfortably in the end. A victory is vital ahead of the bye and a very tough game in Darwin.
