On current form, this will be more of a massacre than a battle. I was leaning toward giving a few one last chance but then I thought why? What are they going to do differently than they've done over the first 3 rounds? Hammer might score a length of the field try and have everyone doing handstands? He might do but the best fullbacks set up lots of tries which Hammer doesn't do and is not (one of the best fullbacks).

Averillo is an honest toiler. Doesn't do much wrong, goes looking for work and etc but we need more than that.

Plath and Gilbert is a conundrum. Both should be starting at #13 but only room for one. Not an issue IMO. JMK can have a rest a bit sooner than usual, Plath can come on and stay on as a middle forward when JMK comes back on.
  1. Donoghue
  2. Isaako
  3. Herbie
  4. Hammer
  5. Bostock
  6. Kodi
  7. Katoa
  8. Saifiti
  9. JMK
  10. Kaufusi
  11. Finefeuiaki
  12. Keeley
  13. Gilbert

  14. Plath
  15. Kerr (who else is there? Kenny B, Nicholls, Kerr or a development squad player)
  16. Stone
  17. ?????? development player?

Definitely agree with you re: Averillo but Donoghoe isn't a suitable replacement at FB. I would have Plath starting at lock and drop Gilbert to the bench. Not a good look having your skipper riding the pine but he has been dreadful.

Dummy half is also an issue. JMK looks lost out there and has lost all semblance of form. Felise is another passenger. As for #17, are Su'a and Molo reporting for duty this week? On paper, a stronger roster than last year, but it hasn't shown. Tough times ahead.

Could definitely use Molo this week but probably won't be available.

You would swap Hammer with Averillo? I don't mind that but would prefer Donoghue gets a chance. Lets see what he can do. I think we already know what Averillo will bring to the team.

i think our big issue is we dont have any forward spark they dont get the ball enough ( just expect hammer n herbie do there thing ) every time hamer got ball he was shut down

stop with even thinking kurt is a back hes no where near max or junior n they cant get in side

i be looking at how we aren't getting ball to hammer yet still are to herbie

your not going see to much change

only change i see os if jaymane is injured then junior comes in ffs changing teams round just because unhappy not going solve nothing
players need get over themself move on n have more hunger

True. Finefeuiaki has been a real let down. He might find himself dropped when Lemuelu is back.

No. I meant to say that I agree with dropping Averillo, but Donoghoe isn't a suitable FB. Which means that Hammer stays put as does Averillo. There are no other options.

i disagree his best games up in cows were of bench but we cant do that as one guys not going make firepower think thats why they targeted morgan, n dan ( and i can see us getting more fire power over time ( now its just up to players )

The speed of the game has beaten Nicholls, Bromwich, Kaufusi and Stone.

Nicholls might score the odd try on the line and Stone will do the odd big tackle that's all though not enough.

Dolphins lack of fitness and energy is a major issue as Wests ran them off their feet.

Dolphins conceded 5 tries two of them lazy marker play because they just can't retreat, two tries being stripped on the edges for numbers and another try where Wests isolated Nikorima one on one who's not a good defender.

Hammer isn't playing with any interest something isn't right.

Bulldogs will blow Dolphins off the park even in the middle of winter.

Woolf was out coached by Benji FFS there's massive issues at Dolphins.
I bet Tigers blow a number of teams off the park, including the Dogs if their big guns all stay healthy.

Big thing in the Bulldogs favour this year is the super soft draw until the last 5 rounds. They only have 2 tough games in all of that Cronulla this weekend and Broncos in a few weeks time. Even with Dolphins they get them without Hammer & maybe Gilbert.

Top 6 is a lock it's just the order they go.

17th is a lock for Dolphins and 16th a lock for Dragons.

Eels will be largely dependent when Moses is back and Cowboys will get the sugar hit once they sack Payten whether it gets them away from 14th or 15th is another matter. Souths have beaten teams 16 and 17 by a combined total of 3 points the Bennett factor means they get to around 10th or 11th they won't be challenging for the 8 though.

That leaves Tigers, Raiders, Knights, Titans and Warriors battling it out for spots 7-8 on the ladder.

no way are dogs in contention for top 4
Dogs are a fringe top 8 team. Top 4 is out of the question. I think Gold Coast and Tigers are going to go well this year. On paper far more talented than the Dogs and Dolphins.
