Round 3: Dolphins vs Sharks

3 Knowles
2 Katoa
1 Herbie

A damn good performance considering their two previous outings. Our smaller pack bashed the shit out of them and the Dolphins turned a close game into a blow out. If they can maintain this level of play, they will be very hard to beat. The looming returns of Molo, Flegs and Donga will make this a very rounded side. In fact, if all three return next week, they will make very short work of the Broncos.

Nice to get the win but will need to be better next week. Confident with a genuine dimmy half we will be.
We are in an excellent position to march way up the table before Origin period.

The only negative out of that was that we didn't finish them off sooner.

I have to admit when they refused the challenge early on saying he didn't hear it i thought the fix was in. what a crock of shit watch out in the future for a close call the ref to sit with his fingers in his ears going lalalalalala i can't hear you.

That was crazy. At first the ref said he didn't get to his feet then, knowing he fucked up, said he wasn't square.

It was soon enough. Cronulla are a half decent team and tough to beat at home. I liked a lot of things the Dolphins did tonight. This team is going places.

That was referring incompetence of thr highest order. His response of I didnt hear you was bullshit. He was talking to him and they were less thrn a metre apart. He then tries to penalise Herbie for thd play the ball.

Those two were an absolute joke.

In the game beforehand. One of the coaches made comment in the sheds to his players "the game is being over officiated". Spare me days. Some refs think the they make the game. I can tell you, the game in any sprt gets better the less you notice the ref. Unfortunately, the style of ref we have today is thanks to Harrigan. This want to be part of the display detracts from the product.

Remember a couple of years ago where suddenly any contact with the head at all, even the slightest brush or accidental touch as the player is falling was an automatic sin-binning? We are getting to that territory. No need at all to get off the tackled player that quickly. As long as it's not overboard, the attack should be better.

As is now, for example when Sharks scored their second try yesterday after repeated 6 again calls so we had to get off the tackled player basically in an instant, a try is inevitable.

With, Flegler, Molo at least Donoghue if not JMK as well back next week and the blinder Knowles had yesterday, who is going to drop out? Keely and Stone also played well yesterday. Schneider is obviously one. Lets say Donoghue to start at hooker, JMK is still out and Plath to go back to the bench. Other than that, coach has a hard decision to make.

Molo will definitely be back. Donga and Flegs should be as well, but not guaranteed. I think JMK is a couple weeks away yet. It'll be Keeley, Schneider and Su'a dropped from the 19 man squad and the possibility of Kaufusi or Stone riding the pine without getting a run. That's a tough choice right there.

I think Molo will head straight to the run on side as he was strong during the preseason and he'll steamroll those subpar Bronco middles. Flegs and Donga will probably start on the bench. Kaufusi and Stone were terrific yesterday. I'm not sure which one is chosen for a lesser role. What does everyone else think? I'd probably pick Stone as he is so strong defensively and keeps his nose clean. Kaufusi is imposing as well, but as we all know, he has a knack for getting careless. I'm glad I'm not making the decision.

I honestly can't decide. But I feel with tough middles like Gilbert, Knowles, Flegler and Molo, Ray Stone might have to miss out.

im glad everyone has calmed down now in regards to Knowles he will be a good addition to the team, and as yonothanjoung says you can’t leave stone out.

Don't see how anyone can keep stone out. You can't replace him with anyone tougher.
It's hard to leave Stone out but if not, who is left out?
  • Flegler
  • Donoghue
  • Gilbert
  • Finefeuiaki
  • Lemuelu
  • Knowles

  • Plath
  • Molo
  • Kaufusi
  • Stone
  • Keeley
  • Fuller
So Stone or Keeley won't be used and Fuller only if there's an injury in the backs.

Keeley is the weak link

I'm a fan of Stone as well but with him, Plath, Gilbert, Knowles are all similar kinds of players. Can we go in with 4 of them?

I thought Keeley had a really good game yesterday.
