Round 25: Dolphins vs Parramatta Eels

Not you too! Enough of this "impact" BS. We need Plath to have "an impact" from the opening whistle. When his "impact" is waning due to fatigue, we need to bring on Donoghue for more "impact". To keep the "impact" going. Because if we fall behind by double digits in the first 15 minutes against the Roosters, the "impact" Plath provides is not going to be enough. Might just be enough "impact" to stop the score from becoming embarrassing.
you never going have same impact taking one of and putting the other on you want both doing the damage at same time thats why we have them o n at same time ( when we have that person we will) putting on kurt or plath one by one from start is not going see the same as al the opposition are fresh there lies your issue we need them to hunting as a pack not as indviduals give it time we may have it hapen but at this stage we cant

as having them on at start isnt going change if we on back foot or not

Impact is the buzz word of the round.

Impact can be provided by either Plath or Kurt.

Doesnt have to be both.

Its a bullshit excuse, and will be criticised when we go 10 down to the Roosters next week and we cant come back.

The downside to starting slow far outweighs the benefit of impact. Relying on impact is only because youre behind. And having to force attack and passes. What should happen is you should solve why your starting slow. This way youre not relying on impact, and you impact complements a good start.

Our situation is shit and needs changing if we want to win.

for one reason you hardly ever will have the impact from the start all the good teams impact will be bench based and seems suit the new rules impact aint from start thats your work horse bigger body players ( impact aint something you get from start )

It can also be provided from the opening minute.

Bottom line is, the team is way, way better when one or both of Plath and Donga are on the field. Excepting injury, there is no good reason why one of them can't be on the field at all times.

why when what they doing is working plath and kurt are as only as good as the rest them , they come on at the time they do and are called junkyaard do because they pick up the scraps , you have one off one on you not ever going have same effect as impact is reason they good you dont need impact to start with for simple reason thats what your big body guys do bash n crash then leave it to kurt n plath if you think you going have same effect your mad unless you had third guy that did it
our slow starts aint because those two aint on park

I mean Kev was talking about picking Plath for Australia.

He has to start, if not play full 80 with Kurt off thr bench as the impact.

No disrespect to Kurt there, as that role is important

You wait and use your biggest weapon at the point it can do the most damage. Keep your powder dry.

Me and mr_c are alligned on this one. If the forward pack cannot punch forwards without plath of donga then the answer is the get 8 lace holes up the arse of those players not sub in someone else.

Either way its working, finals for the first time ever top 4

It's only "impact" because the players coming off the bench are vastly better than the guys they are replacing. Molo has come off the bench the past two games and has continually bent the line and has put up some great numbers. Flegler has struggled all year and his go forward is basically non existent. He has slightly improved defensively, though. Before that, Gilbert was coming on at about the 20 min mark and doing his job and more.

The big one is Knowles who is a massive liability. Donga or Plath would be the sensible option for starting at lock. They both run and tackle hard with great success. They also provide a playmaking option which takes the pressure off the two halves. There isn't anyone more valuable to the club than Max Plath atm. Knowles leads the club in missed tackles (by far). He is dead last in the NRL in tackle efficiency and avg. running metres per game among forwards who have played at least 15 games. This is our starting lock!!!

So, of course there is going to be bench "impact" when you have two starting middles who are basic passengers. Woolf will continue with the status quo, but it will bite them on the ass eventually.

I'm going to quote this every time someone starts raving about impact from now. I'm so sick of hearing about "impact".
