First half standouts:
  • Fuller
  • JMK
  • Finefuiaki
As the game went on, you could tell we are missing some serious firepower in the forwards.

Yep. Forwards need to step up a bit more in the second half. TBH, lucky to still be in it.

I'm not a fan of this shall we say 'exageration' of the impact of some of these shots so they get reviewed.

Understandably just missing a bit of quality in the forwards. At least Kaufusi and Molo will be back next week. They will help. Unless Kaufusi is sent off or sin-binned at a crucial time. Good chance it'll be his last game as a Dolphin because he usually has trouble staying unsuspended for more than a week.

It's crazy blowing a 14 point lead like that. They were in total control until they weren't. Just too many guys missing. The forwards worked their asses off, but Haas ran rings around them. The quality of key personnel missing is just too great for the comp's newest team. The top 8 is set in stone now as far as teams go. The Dolphins can now look forward to next year where they will make some serious noise.

Yep. I can't see the Roosters dropping out the way they are playing. Couldn't go with them in the forwards. It was our little blokes, JMK and Fuller who kept us in it. Sorry Matt but Donoghue played one of his worse games of this year. Keeley as well on had 22 run metres!

Personally I wouldn't say they went into their shell. The quality of the B forward pack isn't quite good enough. Without Flegler, Saifiti, Plath and Gilbert is enough but then Kaufusi and Molo suspended on top of that. Those 6 would make up the middle forward rotation if available. Keeley was also poor. Did he play for 80 min and only managed 22 run metres? That's a bit of a joke really. A shame because he's been getting better for a while.

hence me saying few weeks ago you got have nrl ready players and some of the ones that come outta the qld cup n junior level may half heart but its there mental toughness ( n there ability to handle pressure which 99% of time in lower graes they dont do

and once again our run metres by our halfs were stopped again, we need more than just jmk calm under pressure

There is such a thing as the salary cap. Sometimes there are just too many injuries/suspensions to cover.

Also missing Bostock and Herbie, typically our 2 best metre makers. I think that hurt the team more than anything. To lose 6 middle forwards plus those who are best at getting the pack on the front foot early in the tackle count.

It's disappointing but there really isn't too much to say. The injuries have become just too much. Too much to cover for.

Though I would like to say last week and against this week were the worst games Niko and Hammer have played for us.

Can we keep Nonu out of NRL for another year? Is a backline like this possible?
  1. Fuller
  2. Isaako
  3. Nonu
  4. Herbie
  5. Bostock
  6. Averillo
  7. Katoa

4 points out with 3 games remaining is the worst possible scenario this weekend could have produced. Chances are very slim of a maiden post season, but not impossible. But, the Broncos or the Roosters would have to fall over and the Dolphins would have to win 2 of 3 (at least).

The Dolphins are certainly capable of beating Manly and GC, especially with the return of Kaufusi and Molo. I dare say, those two inclusions last night would have seen a very different result. But, that's the story of the season for the Dolphins and it has ruined their 2025 campaign.

The Roosters have Parra (a), Melb (a) and Souths (h). Broncos play Newc (a), Cowboys (a) and Melb (h). The Roosters are red hot and won't be caught. The Broncos on the other hand are still vulnerable and whilst Newc and NQ might seem like easy marks, it definitely won't be.

I'm clutching at straws, I know. But, I chose to switch allegiance to an expansion team and I'm going to keep my hopes up until it is forlorn. I'm excited in the direction this franchise is heading and they are going to be heavyweights sooner than anyone ever predicted. But, we have to endure the shit times before the success starts happening.

No room for Hammer? You can't be serious. Round 1, 2026 will most likely look like this if the impossible happens and they are at full strength.

1 Hammer
2 Cobbo
3 Averillo
4 Herbie
5 Bostock
6 KNik
7 Katoa.

I think Broncos will beat Newcastle easily but very much doubt they will beat Melbourne. Cowboys 50-50. Roosters will beat Parra and Souths so might as well forget about that.

Just saying, the last 2 games he has been shit. For the money he is on....... not good enough at all. Not even close. Ditto for Niko though he isn't on as much money. And I forgot about Cobbo. Though only on the books for 1 year, they won't let anyone go to suit him.

I think Isaako has been really good.
