Round 24: Dolphins vs Manly Sea Eagles

Plath not qld no1 , started 1 game at lock then came of the bench as a middle forward. That’s his best position bench as he can lift the team . 24-0 down due to a centre who can’t tackle or read the play , much like you and your comments you haven’t a clue what your watching, you wanted rid of stone not so long ago , now you’re his no1 fan . Coach and players come as one with the club if you can’t support them then go elsewhere.
So I'm wrong for criticising the coach and wrong for advocating letting Stone go, which the coach has done. Got it.

I rate Stone. Always have. Rate Knowles as well. Just don't rate them as much as Plath or Donoghue.

Do you think the team is better with Knowles at lock or with Plath or Donoghue at lock?

Which pack in your view is better?

lol its funny how you guys sit there and rubbish knnowles but wait ( what was kurt like in his early days) guys had 19 games ffs is learning a diffrent style footty all the time improving

izzy won't miss any one ffs dude wants stay here long term then he needs start showing hes the star of the show not the guys around him
as for our slow starts it has been said before its that mental toughness they loose when they getrattled early its about that composure which they found better as game went on

as for your comments about were we were satisfied, ask yourself this are you guys really satisfied with the whole club in general you complained bout everything imaginable

loyal to this club exactly where the f does your loyalty lies as i dont think you guys got a clue where it lies for you
In his first 2 seasons I was highly critical of Donoghue. He was playing poorly on the odd occasion he was playing at all. Last year he was our best and this year he is neck and neck with Plath and Herbie. Plath or Donoghue should be on the field at all times if available.

Hang on haven’t you been a savage critic of Kurt Donoghoe? So why is Donoghoe different to the other players?

Bit rich here attacking Red Red who’s spot on in the right here about Knowles performances. Getting away with slow starts against Cowboys, Dragons and a given up Broncos is one thing but against Roosters, Warriors, Panthers, Sharks, Bulldogs or Knights is another even with Panthers Yeoless.

Ive been critical myself, and in my opinion, as a supporter rightfully so.

Others opinions are theirs to have, and also, rightfully so.

Knowles, while being a good player, is surplus to requirements, why we needed a 4th lock at the time is beyond me, especially considering we have a so called cap squeeze to retain players like Herbie.

Kurt D, started of poor, had plenty of errors in him, was played out of position and looked like shit in those position, has been played as a ball playing lock towards the end, and is flourishing. That's partly on him, and partly on the management. Am I critical of it no, because it takes time to find the right position in young players sometimes. Was it right to be critical - YES, we are in a business of winning, and he was costing us with errors, simple. And when you have a squad with 4 locks, he was playing shit, simple.

Getting rid of kodi, for kodi mark 2 just more expensive and a 7 rather then a 6, is just fucking stupid. Again, just my opinion.

Again as a sports fan I'll say it again. Sports teams are in the business of winning. If they were in the business of shine happy people, they'd be not-for-profit. Because they would come last every year and noone would watch them. Woolf has a top 4 squad, as Hammer mentioned in a recent interview. I have always said, just get top 8. If you look at the start of the season we were on spoon form. So as a fan I look at it and call it out, because that form doesn't match the squad list. I want to win, and if you can deliver based on the tools you have, find me someone that can.

My wife is in a high performance corporate team, paid handsomely (hence, I dont have to work). However, the CEO will always say," if you cant do it, get me someone that can." It happens at work everyday, why shouldn't it happen on the sports field, in fact I think it should be more common on the sports field.

I dont want to cut and run on coaches or players, but I spend hard earned coin watching, supporting, buying merch. I essentially pay the salaries of those at the club. I think I can vent or have a say about my team on a club forum. Whilst I dont want to sack the coach and see the good he does, Im not one for watching him fail, and yet do the same thing over and over. I hope he can deliver and believe he can, but if he doesn't soon, as Einstein says, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is madness. And I see elements of that here.

Kodi started as a utility for us, he was struggling without Katoa who’s the mark 2 we have signed no one knows anything about the $$ we are paying, I don’t care about your wife’s boss or Einstein either, when has Woolf failed because I’m pretty sure Bennett didn’t get us in the playoffs. And by the way there was plenty on here calling for his head, and as for spoon form give over we were 5 games into a season and played the current favourites for the comp and lost by a collective 3 points. The media are spreading shit about everything and hoping it sticks. My point is valid if you can’t support your team when they are struggling don’t claim to be a fan. You and your fan club have consistently attacked Knowles and Woolf.

💯
I don't want to sack the coach either. But what he is doing regarding not starting with Plath or Donoghue and hiring the 30 something English halfback to play 5/8 is confusing me greatly. I'm not a fan of either of these things.

He's done ok with the team Wayne and SOS left him. His big recruit is ok as well just not close to as good as those we already had on the books.

If we are behind 18-0 in a preliminary semi after the first 20 with Knowles on, Plath and Donoghue warming the bench and end up losing by 2, something which would be a par for the course this season, I might lose it completely.

Whichever the coach picks

So the coach is infallible. Got it.
Are you a supporter of the team or just the coach?
so if we are starting them who we put on the bench for same impact , we got this far doing what woolf has done it take some big bench effort players which again will have same issue( if they not providing impact we ..... screwed) the bench way it is knows there job n does it well n every pne talks about our bench i dont know how you could top it remove those two back in the starting pack there lies what woolf sees that many don't we just aint got the two that put in as much effort

Why is it that those 2 only have "impact" when coming off the bench (usually with us behind)? Why can't they have "impact" from the first seconds?

lol because 99% of time best impact is when leggs are tierd look at any good team when do them bring the impact on when bodys are hurting so they can hurt them harder proven in most sport best impact comes when starting players go of n fresh come on and the new rules worked in our favour so much better its highly strategic now more than ever

Ok. So why can't Knowles come on and have "impact" instead? Because the team is way better when at least one of Plath or Donoghue is on.

I've edited this out to make it more concise but fuck me did it make me laugh.

If Knowles is on from the start he is playing against a fresh team. as mr_c mr_c said Plath and Donga coming on against a tired team is devastating. Just at the point everyone is starting to drop away they raise the tempo. This then tires the defence more which opens the performance gap and stresses the players more. If you have them on at the start the gap is tiny and they'll get lost in the swamp. Just remember they do so well as you are comparing a fresh young player who is on against guys who've already done 20+ mins. They should stand out
