I agree but also trust the coach, I’m sure averillo will be involved wherever he plays
TBH, as a player I rate Averillo but as a winger, I prefer Naufahu. Averillo has a good passing game. This is his main strength.

I agree. He is also very good defensively. He is a bit wasted on the wing, but his speed makes him a better option than Feagai.

Naufahu, Holo and Bromwich omitted from the 22

Graham 18th, Nonu 19th

So much for Tait being ahead of Nonu :)

This is what I'd do. Might be a good rehearsal for next year if Averillo continues to play well at 5/8.
Just get a feeling jmk not being at his best Kodi might be on the bench to replace him

I honestly believe Plath will eventually evolve into the 9 role once he’s back next year. I don’t see Plath or Gilbert getting the 13 off Donoghoe at this rate. Plath covers 9 and 13 same effectiveness and at a pinch can handle the edge. Donoghoe is a real 13, goes good at 6 & covers all other roles at a pinch. Him being at 13 has helped unlock so much attack and support Katoa so well.

John Fineanganofo who the club upgraded to a development deal for next year is only 20 and plays dummy half, 5/8 & lock very much in the Isaac Luke mould. When he’s on the field for Capras they go better.

Averillo best two spots are 5/8 and fullback and this year he’s finally gaining authority as a player something that’s held him back. The two pathways players showing the fastest progression been Naufahu and Nonu both outside backs and Woolf getting them into the top 30 shows where both are heading.

Another good player progressing well in the last month been James Walsh who Capras and NRLQ Dolphins been using at centre and he played second row in the pre season challenge v Cowboys.

Unless Nikorima isn’t well today I expect him to be at 5/8 Woolf doesn’t strike me as McGuire or Seibold or NSW Origin who will risk an injured player.

The NRLQ series been a great success for Dolphins. Naufahu, Nonu, Walsh & Rasmussen who’s a prop have all played at least one game and part of the 2026 Top 30. Symonds and Garton have played and currently on development deals.

With Plath back next year and Fineanganofo emerging Woolf has options moving forward at 9 and them two along with Averillo and Donoghoe all cover multiple roles even though I see them two now as 80min starters.

Big game for both clubs Warriors with a spare parts side beat the Dolphins last year in Auckland so it’s a game the Dolphins have to be ready for. If Dolphins can stay disciplined in attack & defence they will win the game if the Warriors force them off their game the crowd & calls will get them home. Will be a close game.

NZ also missing Fisher-Harris.Their list of injured isn't as long as ours but might be even worse due to their key personnel missing. So no excuses for us. Need to win. Our for and against is working heavily in our favour. If we win every game by 1 point, we'll probably still end up with the second or third best for and against.

Plath has been injured for a lot of the year and was an edge backrower for the early part which was a big mistake by Woolf in hindsight. You are forgetting how good he was last year or this year when he was moved back to lock. Donoghue will be a utility coming on to give Plath a break and probably staying on to give JMK a break.
