Round 2: Dolphins vs Gold Coast

Plenty of work still to be done, but I'll take the two points in a game where they looked dead and buried. The Flegs injury is a major concern. Cobbo, Plath, Stone and Knik also had good games. It will take a few weeks for this team to hit their strides.

Impressive but I'm going to continue to go with Herbie. He was an absolute menace.

They won't do that. I thought Plath did a credible job, especially defensively. 38 tackles (0 missed) is outstanding for someone who hasn't played in 10 months. Schneider is a worry, though, but he isn't a natural #9 anyways. Hopefully, Donga is back on Saturday.

Plaths defence is first rate. His passing from dummy half isn't good enough. In my view anyway.
 
So lets be brutally honest the titans are spoon contenders which is why we held them to 14. that many fuck ups in the first 20 against a top 4 or even top 8 side and the game was buried by half time.

chalk up the win move on. 2 shit performances in 2 weeks. 2 dots do not make a pattern. 3 and there is a big problem

Defence today was good. But really, the service from dummy half or lack of really screwed us up in my opinion.

Maybe. One if my pet peeves is the arbitrary nature of those 6-again rulings. In big games you can be sure Melbourne, Sydney and Broncos get the rub of the green. But that doesn't negate Plath and Schniders very poor dummy half service.

Schnider isnt a first grader. He looked good playing along side premiership winners at penrith. But asking him to shine in a team thats looking to break into the 8 is another thing.

Said it before Plath can’t pass, from dummy half but he fixed the middle up with strong defence, the 6 again is a lottery. If we want better service kodi to 9 and averillo to six cobbo to centre leave hammer at fullback .
 
Individual brilliance of Herbie and Hammer got us over the line but going to have to improve a lot to beat the Sharks. Having Donoghue and/or JMK on board will be a huge bonus. Wasn't JMK ruled out for 6 weeks about 3 weeks before the season started?

Stone and Plath are big INS despite their lack of match fitness. They will hopefully close down that open highway down the middle that Souths exposed a week ago. If the Dolphins are serious about grabbing a playoff spot this year, then they should have little trouble today.

Katoa will be much better when he's getting good passes out of dummy half rather than looping passes up shoulders or down around his ankles.

I agree. However, i dont think the halves had much to work with. At one stage we had 1 tackle in their redzone.

The errors and penalties meant they had nothing to work with. Not that they were blameless.

It was more a long range game dor thr back 3. Thank god hammer delivered.

his passes aint much better , if the half back is the captain , and not getting much ball, ( then hes got step up more n make some magic everyone knows our tactics from dummy half , now need get way more creative can see why there was a need for willams now

as seriously if hes the playmaker and captain( needs spark which i didnt see and don't think you can blame brade for 99% his game gc olny came close to us as they knew his playbook shut him down and nothing happen hence bunnies allowed him to get away with to much


going be really more intresting the dynamic of the side if we don't keep kodi next year need be starting to look for another senior full time 5/8

Kurt Ds passes? That was the case under Wayne but when he filled in the last year, he did really well. But JMK is certainly our best #9 which is a bit of a concern because I don't think he is physically built to play a lot of minutes over a lot of games in the middle.
