I stick to the topics people choose to play the ball. We're now developing a really good crew on Twitter and Facebook that talk Dolphins without attacking the personality and it should be translating into here. Some in our Twitter crowd mentioned copping it in here.
Red you kinda back up a point I said earlier this year and I got attacked that a lot of Dolphins fans are still "casuals" yet to be fully converted so many still support another club like me and I've never shied from being a Redcliffe fan in the QCup and now take an interest in Norths and Capras. I'm only repeating the studies the NRL have done in that Dolphins are capturing the casual observer and trying to convert them into full-time fans this makes the pressure of winning or losing much greater and why I really want them to be successful. Unlike so many others I don't follow other sports I only follow one sport Rugby League and I follow the Australian Test Cricket team my once love of Cricket is now just confined to watching Australia in Tests. I became a member of Redcliffe Leagues Club in 1998 and was after Dad died in 2015 I let it lapse as I stopped traveling anywhere outside of Sydney yet alone QLD (Dad lived off the Pacific Hwy/Mwy so didn't travel it for 6 years) and as soon as Dolphins won the NRL bid in 2021 I immediately signed up to the first available Dolphins NRL membership and renewed my membership of the Leagues Club despite the border lockdowns.
I don't slag I critique the performances and if they're not up to NRL standard it is to be said. Anyone who is a club member or member of the major shareholder is a financial investor and has a vested interest in the club doing well. For the record I much prefer Redcliffe Leagues to Canterbury Leagues as a club for their bistro, outdoor areas and of course the wall to wall football stuff which in 1998 attracted me to the Dolphins when I first walked into that club the history of the walls just made me really grow into them.
As for Saturday night as this thread is about Dolphins v Souths and people should be talking Dolphins v Souths not attacking the individual.
This is a must win for Dolphins as the Top 8 can form a bit of breakaway and Dolphins need to stay there with the whips cracking. It's hard losing an entire forward pack all clubs go through injuries and concerns its the character of the players to rise to the occasion. Sport is about opportunity and it's up to those in the side to take their chances. Souths for the first time all season are fielding their best backline and bar Murray and Smith are at full strength everywhere else. This is a much different Souths side who have lost games during the season Bennett has everyone bar two fit and ready to go for a tilt to the finals.
Humphreys got the better of Katoa in Round 1 so it's a massive game for Katoa with so much Origin talk around and there's every chance on Sunday Katoa will be named in the 19 or 20 jerseys maybe even 18 if Luai is ruled out and Burton goes to 6. A big game from Katoa seals the deal for him and an even bigger game they seriously look at him for 5/8 and keep Burton as the 18th to cover centre & utility for HIA should Luai be out.
Players who didn't get a good run under Bennett have a massive chance to shine and prove they should have been there last year.
Nikorima can put the whole George Williams gossip to bed with a big game. On another page he's got so much support to the article we posted so he knows the support is there from Woolf and from so many fans. I posted yesterday I don't rate him the best player felt he was on the way out before the season started and Woolf recently admitted Averillo trained more at 5/8 than centre in the off-season but he's playing his best football this year.
