It was a 50 point loss, not a 50 point win. I know technically speaking it ended up less that that due to a couple of late tries by us. You think we shouldn't have anything bad to say about the coach after that?
The other reason you have a rite to question. Every season Woolf has been in charge we have started slow, and its resulted in us just missing the 8.
His methods early on have to come into question. Because you cant be making up that much ground throughout the season.
We arguably have at top 4/8 squad in both depth and quality. And we start so poorly every year. And its not about losing to good sides, its the manner in which we lost. Errors, pens, stupid stuff.
Despite our improvement there must be an early season method change for us to get off to a better start. That's all about coaching and knowing the competition you're playing in.
I called called for a change if improvement didn't happen. And I stand by the fact that if we don't make the 8 this year, with the squad we have, Woolf isn't the guy to get us to a comp. If you cant make the 8 with this squad, I'm not sure you're good enough.
Whilst I give credit for recent improvement, I'm sure everyone here with common sense can see that making the 8 should be an absolute minimum goal for this squad, and if that's not achieved something has to change. And with the squad so highly rated, I don't see how investing in the squad changes much. So the thing you change is coaching. If we were to go into next season doing the same thing, on the back of not making the 8 this year, Id almost think the club isn't serious able winning. And professional sport for a fan is all about the club they support being in the business of winning trophies.
