A big asset of the Bulldogs game is Burton’s kicking and Averillo handled that well he deserves a 3-2-1

Molo set the middle up so well dominated every run he made

Donga nose was smashed up & he played 65mins

I hope we can now agree Dolphins are not unfit. Judging by tonight, far from it. Though the small Bulldogs pack should be better in second halves unless they are smashed in the first, as they were tonight.

Dolphins absolutely put them to the sword which Canberra and Roosters failed to do. What was most impressive is they got on top and finished it off.

Predictable. Bulldogs aren't one of the better teams. If we get our best team on the field, including Flegler, we are one of the top teams.

As I said it was one of the Dolphins best ever performances. They got tonight’s game spot on and once they won the grind finished it off with some tries.

What’s crazy about them is they’ve dismantled Penrith, Melbourne & Canterbury by 18 plus margins yet sit in 12th spot that’s what’s frustrating about them as the potential is there and thrown away games they had in their bag like Souths, Wests and Canberra. Last weeks game was corruption from Gough.

What is not in dispute Donga is one tough player his nose was a mangled mess yet played 70 mins. He’s now a main player at the club.

Wasn't one of our best ever performances. The game against Melbourne this year. Our first game against the Roosters. At least one if not both our games vs the Broncos last year. The game against Parramatta early last year. All much better than tonight. Should have put them to sword in the first half. We were clearly the better team. Actually, in the first 10~15 min of the second half, Bullgrubs might have been better.

Far from one of our best ever performances.

Constructive criticism is a good thing but some of Matt's criticism was very unfair and very uncalled for. Hopefully this result puts that to bed. But Matt still has a lot of good points. I'm not going to tee off on him. I'll take the high road and simply say the better team won.

I’d agree. Far from our best. And I’d suggest, without our 3 best forwards, we would have smashed their powderpuff pack had we had those 3.

What’s glaringly obvious to me. Is that their pack is too small, and both their halves aren’t halves. Watching Katoa compared to theirs is like night and day. Their recruitment has been shit if I’m honest. Anyone can pay overs for flavour of the month players. But having the foresight to get a Katoa is real recruitment

Dolphins may have been without a few forwards but Bulldogs had even more out - King, Preston, Mann, Tupouniua, Salmon, Suluka-Fifita, Todd ... And they were pretty unlucky to be denied a try that would have made in 20-14 in the second half. So, yes, it was a great win and one the Dolphins really needed but you'd be pretty silly to write the Dogs off after that one. With their best team on the ground they will still be one of the teams to beat in September. Hopefully Dolphins will still be in the hunt then as well

I'll take your King, Preston, Topouniua and raise you with Flegler, Saifiti, JMK, Plath, Gilbert.
As for the forward pass, have you seen it from anything close to side on? Commentators, who very obviously wanted Bulldogs to win showed it from behind or from behind on a 90 degree angle and said, "it didn't look forward". What a ridiculous comment. I'm not saying it wasn't a bad call. Only that right now I have no idea because I have only seen it from that angle.

The serious outs added to around the same. Overall Bulldogs had 10 outs but quite a lot of them are back up players.

Dolphins had 5 starting forwards out Flegler, JMK, Saifiti, Gilbert & Plath plus both fullbacks Hammer & Fuller.

Thanks. Dolphins were really good last night and they finally put together a type of performance I love seeing from teams I've supported or involved with and with a style of football that I like to coach. The only time I hoped Dolphins lose they won but all good they deserved to win, it's great for them and they won playing a style I like. Do the hard work early, run straight, run hard, tackle hard and kick well, break down the opponents and cash in with points in the final quarter without letting in that soft try in the last minute.

What is frustrating for Dolphins supporters, members (which I am a member) and those who want to see them do well is they've now beaten Penrith, Melbourne and Canterbury by 18 or more yet sit 12th on the ladder they have a very good for & against difference and still sit in 12th. That's the frustrating thing about them is they have these moments style games but botch it up losing to average sides or play at a level that isn't NRL standard.

I was hoping Dolphins score 3 tries last night as I wanted to see Averillo, Graham and Donga all get across the line and they did.

Donga's place at Dolphins is now assured what a tough nut.

In terms of games lost or frustrating I don't include the Warriors one as that was a fix and my favourite podcast exposed the Warriors earlier in the year being the scripted fairy tale story and what we saw last week was evident of that.
